No. 5 in our countdown sees the continuation of Outside the Huddle’s First Eleven, our annual preseason crowning of the top 11 players in northeast Indiana. Our highest preseason honor, this is the second-annual First 11 list.
No. 5: DJ Moore, Snider – Junior, OL/DL
If this list was based on Division I potential, Moore would be the clear-cut No. 1. With offers from the likes of Ohio State, Penn State, Oregon, Tennessee and Texas A&M, Moore is one of the top offensive line prospects in the entire country in the Class of 2022.
The four-star prospect is an exceptional multi-faceted talent, strong enough to pancake opposing defensive linemen and quick enough, particularly laterally, to maintain contact at the point of attack.
The 6-foot-6, 330-pound Moore is still growing into his body, meaning he will only get more powerful and refined over the course of the next two years.
As Snider mixes in a new offensive backfield, Moore will be huge in opening holes and protecting the quarterback.
In addition, do not be surprised if we see Moore lining up along the defensive line on occasion.
COACH’S QUOTE ON DJ MOORE
“DJ has been blessed with the tools to be an outstanding O-lineman. For a 6-6, 330 lb. player he moves extremely well. He will be a major influence on our offensive production.” – Snider coach Kurt Tippmann
