OTH FIRST ELEVEN 2020: No. 9 Landen Livingston

No. 9 in our countdown sees the continuation of Outside the Huddle’s First Eleven, our annual preseason crowning of the top 11 players in northeast Indiana. Our highest preseason honor, this is the second-annual First 11 list.

No. 9: Landen Livingston, Leo – Junior, OL/DT

When it comes to pure power, arguably no one in the area has more than the 6-foot-4, 280-pound Livingston, with the exception of perhaps Mr. Fiacable at Bishop Dwenger. A D1 talent along the offensive line, Livingston started on both sides of the football in 2019 – at right quard and at defensive tackle.

The guard spot is arguably the most important in Leo’s blocking scheme due to their immense responsibilities in the system, including being able to pull and block in space.

Livingston and Tom Busch were the leaders of the Lions’ offensive line a year ago, but with Busch graduated the junior Livingston will need to step into a leadership role.

The scary thing is that Livingston is only getting better, and his junior season should help him land even more D1 offers – with programs such as Arizona State, Michigan State, Indiana and Purdue already having placed scholarships on the table.

“Landen is a very special player and a leader for our team. He was a big part of our success last year on both sides of the ball and we are very excited about what he can accomplish this season. He is a big, strong lineman who has great feet and is also very physical and aggressive.” – Leo coach Jared Sauder
