Outside the Huddle and Blitz are counting down who they feel are the top 50 individual players in northeast Indiana heading into the 2024 season.

Our highest preseason honor, the 6th annual First Eleven profiles the top players (in the mind of Outside the Huddle) entering the fall.

No. 3: QB Jimmy Sullivan, senior, Carroll

Looking for a word to describe the cool, calm and collected Sullivan? Try ‘zen.’

No moment is too big for the senior quarterback. Nothing much rattles the kid. As a sophomore, he helped take Carroll to a 6A state championship game. How did he treat it? As nonchalantly as if it was an intrasquad scrimmage.

But behind that tranquil exterior is a ultra-competitive quarterback. He can make all the throws, from the near side to far sideline to 50 yards downfield. He loves designed runs. Being able to take off in draws or bootlegs really take advantage of his deceptive quickness.

Sullivan, a University of Iowa commit, threw for over 1,500 yards and 18 touchdowns a year ago, adding over 400 yards rushing and five scores. Over the last two years, he has scored 59 times – 45 passing and 14 rushing.

As he begins his final prep campaign, Sullivan has eyes on getting Carroll back down to Indianapolis on Thanksgiving weekend.

COACH’S QUOTE ON JIMMY SULLIVAN“Jimmy Sullivan is the complete quarterback. He is a dual-threat player that can run and pass. He is a student of the game and embraces the grind of the game. We are excited for the 2024 season with Jimmy at the helm.”– Carroll coach Doug Dinan
