Outside the Huddle and Blitz are counting down who they feel are the top 50 individual players in northeast Indiana heading into the 2025 season.
Our highest preseason honor, the 7th annual First Eleven profiles the top players (in the mind of Outside the Huddle) entering the fall.
No. 5: WR Jerquaden Guilford, senior, Northrop
When you have the choice of Ohio State and a series of SEC schools on where you are going to play collegiate football, you know you’re a stud.
“Quay” is an all-around athlete, but his specialty is wide receiver. His acceleration is elite, he can beat with regularity defenders in and out of his breaks and he has an innate ability to meet the ball at its apex.
Guilford amassed 35 receptions for 556 yards and three touchdowns last season as Northrop battled health issues at quarterback. If David Callison can play a full season in 2025, the sky is the limit for Guilford in terms of production.
An Ohio State commit, Guilford has the most potential of any player in the area this season. Production could match that potential if everything goes right for the Bruins.
COACH’S QUOTE ON JERQUADEN GUILFORD: “Quay is ready for a breakout season. With high team goals in mind, he’s stepping up as a leader. He can run any route and line up anywhere we need him to.”– Northrop coach Quinton Bowen
