Outside the Huddle and Blitz are counting down who they feel are the top 50 individual players in northeast Indiana heading into the 2025 season.
Our highest preseason honor, the 7th annual First Eleven profiles the top players (in the mind of Outside the Huddle) entering the fall.
No. 10: QB Michael White, senior, Homestead
The most-proven quarterback in the SAC entering the season, White exudes a high level of skill and talent. His throws from the pocket look almost effortless, and his abilities to scramble and make plays outside the pocket can give defenses fits.
At 6-foot-3 he is tall enough to have an unobstructed view of the field and his speed is able to buy time or get him into the open field quickly. He can make throws across his body on the run, which makes him dangerous behind the line of scrimmage no matter where he is at.
A multi-year starter for the Spartans, White threw for 1,439 yards and 12 touchdowns last season while rushing for 318 yards and a pair of scores. If Homestead is able to compete in the SAC and Class 6A this season, White will be a big reason why.
COACH’S QUOTE ON MICHAEL WHITE: “Michael is a three-year starter and it shows. He has good arm talent, good speed and a great grasp of the offense. We expect great things from Michael this year.”– Homestead coach Chad Zolman
