Outside the Huddle and Blitz are counting down who they feel are the top 50 individual players in northeast Indiana heading into the 2025 season.
Our highest preseason honor, the 7th annual First Eleven profiles the top players (in the mind of Outside the Huddle) entering the fall.
No. 8: OL/DL Andrew Trahin, senior, Bishop Dwenger
Committed to Eastern Michigan, Trahin is a specimen at 6-foot-4 and around 270 pounds. But before he heads to the MAC, he has some business to attend to for the Saints in his final prep campaign.
Name a position up front and Trahin can man it. Center. Tackle. D-tackle. D-end. He is as versatile as he is dominant. He is very much a “plug-and-play” kind of player.
What stands out on film is how quick that Trahin gets leverage out of his stance on offense. He has a knack for standing defenders up when he engages and putting them off balance. Conversely, Trahin is fleet afoot when it comes to moving laterally, allowing him to stay engaged and direct defenders where he wants them to go.
As the Saints look to challenge for an SAC crown, Trahin will be a big part of it, literally and figuratively.
COACH’S QUOTE ON ANDREW TRAHIN: “Big, strong, athletic and physical presence in the trenches. He is versatile enough to play all offensive and defensive line positions. He is one of the best linemen in the state.”– Bishop Dwenger coach Jason Garrett
