Outside the Huddle and Blitz are counting down who they feel are the top 50 individual players in northeast Indiana heading into the 2023 season.
Our highest preseason honor, the 5th annual First Eleven profiles the top players (in the mind of Outside the Huddle) entering this fall.
No. 6: OL Jordan King, senior, North Side
At 6-foot-5 and 310 pounds, King looks the part of one of the most physically imposing linemen in the entire state.
When you factor in his exceptional technique and ability to get out into the open field and finish blocks in punishing fashion, you can understand why King is a part of the First Eleven.
A multi-year starter, King is fleet afoot for his size and can pull after the snap to seal a block and spring one of North Side’s many talented skill position guys. He seeks out contact whether it is at the line of scrimmage, at the second level or 25 yards downfield.
A Purdue commitment, King has the body type and the skill set to be a difference maker up front in the Big 10.
COACH’S QUOTE ON JORDAN KING“Jordan is the best offensive lineman I have ever coached in 10 years. He can play all five positions. He has great feet and great hands. He can get out in space and block guys on the perimeter. Our offense put up over 5,000 yards of offense last year and Jordan King was the key for that success.”– North Side coach Ben Johnson
