What are some things to look forward to this week?
THE HOMESTEAD EFFECT
The Spartans will once again make their presence well known in the league this week.
Six different Homestead players take part in the Summit Summer League this year and they have the chance to have a bigger footprint in week two than they did in week one even.
Both of each Team Brandon Durnell and Team Mark Abram will feature two Spartans while Team Josh Deming and Team David Prokop will have a single Homestead player. That means every game will feature Spartans in prominent roles and if week one was any indication, they will play a major role in who takes home wins on Wednesday night.
Team Durnell features Michael Raudenbush and Aiden Good. Raudenbush has been one of the brightest lights the last two years in this league. He was a diverse scorer a year ago and in week one, game one, he did much of the same things. Raudenbush has been able to show that he can work in and out of a system well and in this league, he is must see more often than not. Good will join him after missing the games of week one and it will add a nice sharpshooter potential to Team Durnell.
On Team Abram will be another Spartan sniper in Owen Smith, who had an excellent week one in the league. Smith hit six three pointers in one game last week and has continued to develop an ability to hit not only as a spot up guy, but with heavy pressure and it makes him such an intriguing prospect to repeat those activities in week two. Joining him will be Jake Coolman, who not only had a great week one, he was one of just three to secure a 20 point game in the opening week.
Team Prokop will feature Wyatt Weaver, who was one of the most consistent guys in week one, being a top end contributor not only in both games but basically every time he was on the court as he averaged 11 points and 6.5 rebounds. Team Deming will have super sophomore Mack Welker, who still averaged eight points and three rebounds despite being the lowest average scorer of Homestead’s players in week one.

TEAMMATES AS TEAMMATES
All of the Homestead connections, or Bishop Luers connections – they have 5 players in the league on 3 different teams this week – there are a lot of other teammate connections this week that could really help the flow of all four teams.
Team Durnell has both Homestead and Luers connections, but also has AAU teammates Kyle Hartsough (Lakeland) and Dom Keferl (Carroll). The Summit City Elite 2026-Black duo can both get really hot scoring and we saw Keferl do some of that last week, scoring 12 and rebounding extremely well in his one game played. Another AAU matchup with Michael Raudenbush (Homestead) and Trevon Maley (FW Hawks) brings more experience and Maley really was probably the most underrated player in the league in week one as he hit his spots, knocked down shots and became a really reliable guy averaging 13.5 points and 5.5 rebounds.
Team Deming’s team ups will be highlighted by AAU teammates Parker Reed (Garrett) and Justin Carlson (Lakeland). That SCE 2025-Blue pairing both had solid first week performances, also playing as teammates for Team Durnell. The way that Reed and Carlson got out in transition and moved so well really helped Durnell thrive in they pace they played last week and they could do the same for Team Deming.
The root of the connections for Team Prokop is Ryker Quake out of East Noble, who is a recent teammate of three other guys in this group. He played AAU on the same team as Oliver Adams (Woodlan) and Landon Lybarger (Heritage) and is a school ball teammate of Nathan Bowker at East Noble; Bowker also played part of the spring/summer in AAU with Lybarger. Prokop benefits from a lot of those senior class connections and last week, some of the best trips up the court in the league saw Adams and Bowker running together as post and point. Quake had one of the best SSL’s last August and his connections to these three could really help him break out a good week 2 this year.
Team Abram has the Homestead duo mentioned above and the power Tippecanoe Valley duo of Davis Cowan and Stephen Akase, but also features some AAU connections with Cowan/Akase from SCE 26-Black as well as Isaiah King (FW Hawks) and Jake Coolman (Homestead) from OPS.
There is always comfort in familiarity so that will be a fun aspect to watch this Wednesday.

GAME OF THE WEEK POTENTIAL
Team Deming certainly had the best game in week one and heading into week two, on paper Bounce believes that Deming’s matchup with Team Abram at 7:15 p.m. on Court D will be the best game in week two of the league.
Deming has a lot of important spots including a bruiser in Mason Pearson (NorthWood) one of last week’s best players in Parker Reed (Garrett) and a couple more important senior class pieces in Colt Kirkpatrick (Central Noble) and Justin Carlson (Lakeland). We expect Mack Welker (Homestead) to have a big week after a so-so start; he is one of the best sophomore players in the area for a reason. Sophomore guard Jacob Fraley (Angola) adds another interesting piece to Deming because of how his effort and enthusiasm on court can alter games. He has several guys who played for Durnell in their 2-0 week one and adding Welker and some others to the mix make Team Deming tough.
Team Abram has the chance to really move up the court well and bully opposing teams because of the inclusion of week one Player of the Week Isaiah King (FW Hawks), who certainly used his athleticism and size to his advantage in week one, but believe me when I tell you his shot is so nice that it can make his inside-out game tough to handle. Stephen Akase (Tippecanoe Valley) is working in that same vein; while his outside touch may be a work in progress, his ability to work downhill with the physicality he has is interesting.
Team Abram has five guys that scored in double digits last week including King, Akase, Owen Smith (Homestead), Davis Cowan (Tippecanoe Valley) and Jake Coolman (Homestead), so offense shouldn’t be an issue, but how will this group distribute the wealth this week? The team also features a couple of freshman to get to know in Landin Kralis (Warsaw) and Wyatt Schroll (Manchester), who both play as part of the TPE program.
