No. 2: Bailey Kelham, Garrett
Bailey Kelham is the best girls basketball player in the history of Garrett basketball. She planted those seeds very early on with one of the best freshman scoring performances in state history a couple of years ago. She has consistently set the bar higher and higher as her career has progressed and returns from one of the best Railroader teams in history of last season. Her 5.2 rebounds per game was a team second best while also averaging 1.8 steals and 1.2 blocks per game in 2021-22, showing how Kelham has gone from a scoring guard to a much more multi dimensional player.
Above all else, Kelham is going to score for the Railroaders. She is one of the area’s most proficient scorers and she can do it on all three levels. The Huntington University commit shoots the ball well but her ability to put the ball on the floor and go to work is perhaps underrated. Kelham led the Railroaders at 16.2 points per game while scoring in double figures all 29 times she took the court; nine times she scored 20 or more points. Kelham shot 56 percent from two point range and 83 percent from the free throw line.
COACH’S QUOTE ON BAILEY KELHAM
“”Bailey has willingly played a complementary role in our system the last 3 years. This year the offense will run through her and she have the opportunity to fully display the type of player she is. She is a winner that always puts team success ahead of personal statistics. This year, more than ever, those two things will go hand and hand.” – Garrett coach Bob Lapadot
