Another week, another chance to be great. After a well needed holiday resting season for yours truly, I am back with more game picks in the midst of the ACAC and NECC Tournaments.
Each week, Bounce will pick Games on the girls side and another set on the boys side. Looking to highlight the big games and the best matchups in the area. Unlike Blitz, we can’t quite pick every game because we don’t get to only play on Fridays, am I right?
If you know how Bounce picks, you know its different than that prognosticating bear in the fall. No projected scores or spreads here. Basketball is too unpredictable for silliness like that.
LAST WEEK: 12-6 (including 2-2 predicting NECC/ACAC Tournament champions)
THIS SEASON: 99-30
LAST SEASON: 136-66
GIRLS
NORWELL AT JAY COUNTY, TUESDAY
The Patriots are coming off a disappointing loss Saturday so you think they would be ready for a big game. Norwell is big game tested though, so expect a big time scoring display on both sides. BOUNCE PICKS NORWELL
HOMESTEAD AT WARSAW, TUESDAY
A massive contest for the Spartans coming off a SAC win Friday that has them in the drivers seat for the conference title. This is a game that has been heavily anticipated all season long. Some the area’s best scorers and defenders clash and something has to give. BOUNCE PICKS WARSAW
BLUFFTON AT DEKALB, WEDNESDAY
This could be a really fun one and a chance for DeKalb to show how much they’ve grown over the season even if they haven’t gotten a ton of attention. Bluffton and Konley Ault looked like world beaters again last week however. BOUNCE PICKS BLUFFTON
LEO AT EAST NOBLE, FRIDAY
Two teams in the NE8 that have a lot to prove here with the postseason looming and the Sectional draw on Saturday. For East Noble, they want all of the momentum they can get heading into a big one next week with NE8 leader Norwell. BOUNCE PICKS EAST NOBLE
HOMESTEAD AT NORTH SIDE, FRIDAY
Why is this here? Homestead puts themselves in the best spot possible to win the SAC. They’d improve to 8-0 in conference and control their own destiny. BOUNCE PICKS HOMESTEAD
CONCORD AT WARSAW, SATURDAY
With Concord sitting just one game behind Warsaw in the NLC standings, this game could determine a conference champion. A win for Warsaw will give the Tigers an outright title. Oddly enough despite 6-0 and 5-1 records in the NLC, Warsaw comes into this week 20-1 overall while Concord is just 9-10. BOUNCE PICKS WARSAW

BOYS
COLUMBIA CITY AT HOMESTEAD, TUESDAY
The Eagles split big games over the weekend while Homestead got caught bad on Friday before recovering strong against Marian. The Spartans had two great wins last week behind masterful performances from Mack Welker. This is a dog fight but Homestead doesn’t intend to backslide. BOUNCE PICKS HOMESTEAD
ANGOLA AT DEKALB, TUESDAY
Angola has themselves a great week in getting to overtime in the NECC Tournament title game on Saturday. Niles Knox may have had the best overall week of anyone in that tournament and if he doesn’t let up, DeKalb will have a hard time matching up with him. BOUNCE PICKS ANGOLA
EAST NOBLE AT NORTH SIDE, TUESDAY
North Side’s win over the NE8 leaders on Saturday means that the Knights may struggle here. North Side is starting to pile good days on top of eachother and that means that heading to By Hey Arena is going to be more difficult as the season continues. BOUNCE PICKS NORTH SIDE
CARROLL AT SOUTH SIDE, FRIDAY
The Archers are right back in the SAC title hunt with Snider’s win last Friday. But Carroll’s inside presence says that the Chargers are here to play spoiler. This is going to be one of the best SAC games this season that nobody is talking about, or at least I think so? BOUNCE PICKS SOUTH SIDE
CENTRAL NOBLE AT EASTSIDE, FRIDAY
A rematch of a game this past Saturday in the NECC consolation that got overlooked. Eastside picked up a big win for their program behind Nolan Baker’s 17 points. Can they get the rematch? Its been hard to beat teams twice in the NECC for anyone this year, but not impossible. BOUNCE PICKS CENTRAL NOBLE
WESTVIEW AT FAIRFIELD, FRIDAY
A rematch of last Wednesday’s NECC Tournament quarterfinal that we (correctly) thought would produce the tournament champion. The problem? It wasn’t exactly the closest game we expected it to be. What I said above applies, a second win against a NECC foe is hard, but Westview looks so good right now, picking against them doesn’t make much sense. BOUNCE PICKS WESTVIEW
BLUFFTON AT ADAMS CENTRAL, FRIDAY
A big conference game for the leaders in Bluffton, one to be played without their bench big and perhaps without their sophomore standout. That isn’t great news when running into Braylend Reber in the Hanger. Still, something tells me coach Craig Teagle has this figured out. BOUNCE PICKS BLUFFTON
BELLMONT AT HUNTINGTON NORTH, SATURDAY
You may not find a game with as good of impact underclassmen. Bellmont is 0-3 in the NE8 while Huntington North is at the top of the standings at 3-0. Right now, the Vikings are loaded with guys stepping up and that depth is hard to overcome. Meanwhile, Daniel Selking is fresh off an 8-three point make outing and he is as good of an equalizer as anyone right now. Could be much closer than records would indicate. BOUNCE PICKS HUNTINGTON NORTH
