Today, we continue the countdown on the girls hoops side with positions No. 35-31
No. 35 – Lucy Kitchen, Eastside
Kitchen has quietly become a critical playmaker for Eastside’s girls program, contributing across multiple facets of the game. Last season she averaged 7.8 points per game, 4.3 rebounds, and a team best 3.5 assists per game. She had a combined 5 steals and deflections per game. Her ability to facilitate the offense and disrupt opponents defensively makes her more than just a complementary scorer as she has been a big part of the NECC dominance of Eastside. As Eastside eyes another strong run in the NECC, Kitchen’s balanced contributions give her a valuable role in both set and transition play.
Coach’s Quote on Kitchen
“Lucy Kitchen is a fantastic PG, her vision and the ability to find her teammates is outstanding. She can also shoot the ball very well, her basketball IQ and instincts are very high. She is a very good leader on and off the floor, big things are coming of her.” – Eastside coach Mike Lortie
No. 34 – Ava Stafford, Adams Central
Stafford has quietly become a versatile force for Adams Central’s girls basketball squad. Last season she posted averages of 12.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 2.6 steals per game — numbers that underscore her ability to contribute in all phases of the game. As a 5′7″ guard, she divides her time between point and shooting guard roles, displaying both court vision and defensive intensity. What she does well for AC—scoring, rebounding, playmaking, and steals—makes her a standout two-way contributor and one of the more complete prospects in the ACAC.
Coach’s Quote on Stafford
“Ava is an amazingly well-rounded player who we depend on for so much. She led us in scoring, rebounding, assists, and blocks last year. She is a very hard worker with a great competitive drive. She has become a great leader for us. We look forward to seeing what she accomplishes this year.” – Adams Central coach Tim Hildebrand
No. 33 – Mya Turner, Fremont
During the 2024-25 season, she averaged 12.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.7 steals and was named to the KPC All-Area team and was honored on the NECC All-Conference team. Turner plays very long and very strong and that helps make her a really good finisher for the Eagles. She continues to be an assertive presence for Fremont and it helped make her one of the more reliable rebounders in the conference a season ago. Now an upperclassman, expect her role to continue to grow and be more impactful.
Coach’s Quote on Turner
“Mya’s ability to play any position we need her to is what makes her such an asset to our team. Her length and speed benefit her on both offense and defense.” – Fremont coach Shae Thomas
No. 32 – Delaney Noll, Homestead
Noll emerged as one of Homestead’s most promising young guards during the 2024-25 season, showcasing impressive maturity and efficiency. She averaged 6.2 points, 2.9 assists, and 2.0 rebounds per game, shooting 56% from the field, including 30% from three-point range, and 70% from the foul line. Noll’s combination of speed, poise, and decision-making allowed her to play meaningful minutes in a veteran-heavy lineup led by Division I and NAIA commits. Known for her ball-handling and ability to penetrate defenses, she became a key piece in Homestead’s transition game and a dependable secondary playmaker.
Coach’s Quote on Noll
“Delaney possesses a high basketball IQ and finds ways to make her teammates and team better each possession. Delaney is an efficient scorer, great rebounder, excellent passer and will continue to prove why she is one of the best players in her class.” – Homestead coach Rod Parker
No. 31 – Alexis Neely, Warsaw
Neely proved to be a key piece for a Class 4A state runner-up squad last season, thriving as the team’s fourth option while still averaging 9.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game. She showed her ability to rise to the moment with a career-high 24 points against New Haven and added versatility with a 12-point, 11-rebound double-double against Northridge. Neely’s blend of scoring, playmaking, and rebounding made her an invaluable complementary weapon on a loaded roster, and her experience in high-pressure games has her poised for an even bigger role moving forward.
Coach’s Quote on Neely
“One word comes to mind when I think of Alexis Neely. Underrated. Here is a kid who does it all. Within a single game, we may ask her to go from being our outlet and point guard, to becoming our rim run and defending the other team’s best player. Alexis is the one of the hardest working and most unselfish kids I have every coached. She is a big reason we had three (3) 1000 point scorers on last year’s team. With Winchester graduating, I think people are going to see Alexis really step up her offensive game, as she is capable of putting points on the board just as well as Bricker and Zartman. Huntington University is getting a steal with this young lady.” – Warsaw coach Lenny Krebs
