Recently, we unveiled our plan to name area programs’ top five players of the 21st century, which sits at 25 seasons in both football and basketball.

Reminder, this is based on high school career performance ONLY. This is by no means a definitive list and, if anything, is encouraging debate on potential omissions to this list.

Through exhaustive research, reaching out to former coaches and players and our own personal opinion, here is the OTH Quarter Century Team for Bellmont boys basketball.

Note: The list is in alphabetical order

Adam Arnold

As a junior, he powered the Braves to the 2004 Class 3A state final, scoring a game-high 21 in the championship loss. Arnold averaged 16.5 points and 11.8 rebounds per game during the state finals season. Arnold followed with a senior season of 17 points and 10 rebounds per night plus 61 blocks and 51 steals as he was named an Indiana Senior All-Star. He went on to play in college at Indiana State. He ranks third all-time in Bellmont scoring with 1,360 points.

Seth Colclasure

A prolific scorer for Bellmont, as a junior in 2000-01 he averaged 29.4 points per game, including a school-record 47-point game, and led the state in scoring. He was also a free-throw marksmanship standout — hitting 97.7% of his free throws in that season and nearly 93.7% over his high school career. He finished with 2,207 career points, ranking among Indiana’s all-time high school scoring leaders ever and is the most points ever scored by someone in Adams County. He was an Indiana All-Star and Player of the Year, and then moved on to Valparaiso University.

Kade Fuelling

Graduating in 2020, he averaged 17.2 points and 5 rebounds per game in his senior year, with solid contributions in steals and defensive stats as well. He cracked the 1,000-point club in his high school career, putting up 1,075 career points – 10th all-time in Bellmont program history – and earned recognition via IBCA as a Senior All-State Honorable Mention, along with underclass honors in prior years. After high school, he moved on to Franklin College.

Aaron Richie

A 6-7 point guard/combo forward known for his versatility and playmaking. In his senior season, he averaged about 15.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.1 steals and 3.5 assists per game, and helped lead Bellmont to the Indiana Class 3A state runner-up finish. As a junior, Richie averaged 15 points, 5.5 rebounds and and 3.1 assists per game. After high school he played at Central Michigan before transferring to IPFW.

Jack Scheumann

By his junior season he was averaging about 13.8 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. He crossed the 1,000-point threshold in his senior year, finishing as the 8th leader scorer in program history with 1,093. As an all-area performer as a senior, Scheumann averaged 18.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.3 steals per game. He’s had standout moments, including a career-high and 2023/24 Northeast Indiana high 42-point game versus Bishop Luers as a senior. As a sophomore, he averaged 12.6 points per game.
