Today, we head into the Annual First Five and the top preseason honor given out for basketball by Outside the Huddle.

No. 4 – ISAIAH KING, GARRETT

A versatile two-way threat on the basketball court, King averaged 15.9 points and 8.2 rebounds per game, while also contributing about 1.2 steals and 1.5 blocks per outing, placing him among the elite in the area. He ranked first in the NECC in several statistical categories, including as the conference’s leading scorer. In addition, King will be the second highest area returner in rebounds per game this season. He was named IBCA All-State Honorable Mention and tied teammate Carter Coffman’s single-game sophomore scoring record of 34 points. With his blend of size, skill and mindset, King is positioned to make a significant impact again for Garrett and potentially become a highly sought-after prospect.

Coach’s Quote on Isaiah:

“Zay is making a speedy recovery after tearing his ACL and meniscus the last week of May. Throughout the last couple months, he has really put in the time on the court, in the weight room, and in his Physical Therapy sessions. We look forward to having him back and being able to play a huge part in our success. He is (in my opinion) one of the best players in our area who works tirelessly to be the best version of himself on and off the court which is contagious with our other guys in our locker room.” – Garrett coach Logan Traylor
