Outside the Huddle and your favorite cartoon frog Bounce is breaking down each regional involving area teams coming up on Saturday.

We continue today in Class 2A as Blackhawk Christian enters the weekend at North Judson as the heavy favorite.

BOONE GROVE (18-6) vs. BOWMAN ACADEMY (11-12), 11 A.M. EST, 10 A.M. CST

Fresh off its first sectional title in eight years, Boone Grove will look to continue its run on Saturday morning. The Wolves are comfortable with games staying in the 40s and 50s as the team really does not have the firepower to go toe-to-toe with an offensive powerhouse.

Because of that, expect Bowman Academy to want to make this one a track meet – led by the 6-foot-7 guard Koron Davis. The senior averages over 26 points per game and is also one of Bowman’s top rebounders.

CHURUBUSCO (21-4) vs. BLACKHAWK CHRISTIAN (24-3), 2 P.M. EST, 1 P.M. CST

Churubusco was able to beat Central Noble in sectional play with superb play of its defense, identifying matchups that the Eagles could win based on their style and strategy.

It is hard to see how Churubusco matches up with the Braves. If Landen Jordan is on Caleb Furst, there is a danger that the 6-foot-8 big man picks up early fouls and is relegated to the bench. If Churubusco tried to pack it in and play zone, Blackhawk Christian is more than capable of shooting the ball out of the gym on the perimeter.

Churubusco needs to push the tempo and create turnovers, as well as hope the Braves have an off day shooting the ball from outside the arc.

FINALS, 8:30 P.M. EST, 7:30 P.M. CST

Despite playing the late semifinal, Blackhawk Christian will be plenty ready for this one in a showdown with Boone Grove. Furst has another field day in this one – while Jacob Boyer is stout as a matchup nightmare for a defense trying to respect the likes of Furst, Zane Burke and Marcus Davidson.

This is a blowout.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Zane Burke, Blackhawk Christian: The senior has scored at least 20 points in six of his last last seven games. Caleb Furst gets all the media pub and attention from the opposing team, but it is Burke who forces defenses to stay honest. He has a nine-game streak of hitting at least one three-pointer.

Jackson Paul, Churubusco: Paul’s offense is so good at over 23 points per game, but it was his defense that opened the most eyes last week as he helped control Central Noble’s Connor Essegian. The senior is not going to see his prep career end without a fight. Look for him to a difference maker on both ends. But does he have enough help?

Andrew Murray. Boone Grove: A football player in the fall, Murray likes to body up and own the post. He is not a guy who scores in bunches, but he affects the game in a variety of different ways and always seems to have position. He is always good for a couple rebound putbacks on offense, which just may be enough in the semis.
