Snider’s Jon Barnes Jr. had the boys hoops Performance of the Week for Jan. 13-18

If it was just a buzzer beater to sink one of the top teams in the SAC, this honor probably still would belong to Jon Barnes Jr. But the Snider did plenty more on Friday to earn the FAN VOTE as the boys hoops Performance of the Week for January 13-18.

Barnes Jr. scored 15 points, hitting 5 of 8 three pointers including that massive three quarter court buzzer beater on Friday in a 53-52 win over Homestead. It earned him 40.36 percent of the over 5,100 total votes.

Other nominees included New Haven’s Donovynn Lewis, Central Noble’s Connor Essesgian, Woodlan’s Mitch Mendenhall, Central Noble’s Sawyer Yoder, Norwell’s Will Geiger, Westview’s Charlie Yoder, Canterbury’s Will Shank, Blackhawk Christian’s Caleb Furst and Northrop’s Qualen Pettus.

These polls will run each Sunday through the season and are not considered a “player of the week,” but will instead focus on who had best performance in a single game during the week, NOT a body of work during the entire week.

Please note: nominees are selected from statistics provided by teams to Outside the Huddle. Is someone potentially missing? Make sure your coach is submitting game night stats and scoring to: othscores@gmail.com
