Gibson threw three touchdown passes, two of five yards each and one of 46 yards, in somewhat of an upset win over NorthWood in the Class 4A sectional title game.

In the voting, Gibson earned 59.2 percent of the vote (1,071 total votes) to win the Player of the Night honor.
