Outside the Huddle and Blitz are counting down who they feel are the top 50 individual players in northeast Indiana heading into the 2026 season.

Our highest preseason honor, the 8th annual First Eleven, profiles the top players (in the mind of Outside the Huddle) entering the fall.

No. 9: WR/DB Harrison Scheele, senior, Carroll

Jaidon Vanpelt received plenty of accolades a season ago, and for good reason. Anytime you go for 1,407 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns at any level is a big deal.

But someone who did not get the praise he should have in 2025 was Scheele, who hauled in 62 receptions for 981 yards and six touchdowns.

Scheele can line up in the slot or on the outside. His field vision is sensational and the ability to get separation is deceptive. He has an extra gear that he can hit out of his route or when the ball is in his hands, and he is a crisp route runner. His rapport with quarterback Gabe Frisinger is almost innate, as both know the tendencies of the other.

This year, Scheele’s role on defense will increase. He is a pure athlete who has a nose for the football, something that is going to prove invaluable in the secondary. He will also be considerably dangerous in the return game on special teams as well.

Scheele is in line for a monster year. He could very well flirt with the numbers that teammate Vanpelt put up in 2025.

COACH’S QUOTE ON HARRISON SCHEELE

“Harry Scheele is a dynamic football player that can excel on both sides of the ball, as well as on special teams. As a junior, Harry was the second-leading receiver on the team. He has increased his leadership and his play speaks for itself. We are very excited for his senior season.– Carroll coach Doug Dinan
