Today, we continue the countdown on the girls hoops side with positions No. 20-16
No. 20 – Izzie Eke, Snider
The Panthers will add Eke to their roster this season as a Bishop Dwenger transfer for her junior season. Eke is best described as a combo wing — someone with offensive versatility, the ability to attack off the dribble or handle herself inside, and defensive instincts that allow her to generate big contesting moments. Last season, she averaged 13.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game for the Saints with her all-around game, and competitiveness expeted to be a two-way factor immediately for the Panthers.
Coach’s Quote on Eke
“Adding a player of Izzie’s caliber is a huge pick up for us this season. It gives us more height and versatility at the wing and the post. She is also a proven scorer and rebounder. I feel this will take our transition game to another level. We look for great things from Izzie this year.” – Snider coach Reggie Tharp
No. 19 – Konley Ault, Bluffton
Ault returns as the leader of the team and one of the conference’s top all-around players. Ault put together an impressive junior season, averaging 15.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game while earning ACAC First Team honors and being recognized as an Honorable Mention Small School All-State selection. With her ability to score, distribute, and defend, he will once again be the focal point of the offense and a player the team leans on in high-pressure moments. Her experience and versatility make her the driving force behind the team’s postseason aspirations.
Coach’s Quote on Ault
“Konley is one of the top players in Northeast Indiana as evidenced by her stat numbers and our team wins these past 2 seasons. She is a great offensive player who can get to the basket and free throw line and has added a solid 3-point ball to her game over the summer. She additionally has great quickness at both ends of the floor which helps us run an aggressive defense each game.” – Bluffton coach Doug Curtis
No. 18 – Macie Saalfrank, Norwell
Saalfrank has emerged as one of Norwell’s most important contributors on their run to a Class 3A state title game. She averaged 14.1 points, 3 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 2.8 steals per game last season, solidifying her role as a two-way threat. Her scoring ability and on-ball disruption make her a key piece of Norwell’s system, especially in defensive pressure and transition. Last season, she posted a career-high 29 points, hitting six three pointers against New Haven. Her growth, resilience, and steady production suggest she will continue to be a cornerstone for Norwell.
Coach’s Quote on Saalfrank
Macie’s development has been amazing and is a credit to her character. She leads our team with the necessary emotional balance to make plays without fear in the most critical moments. Macie’s quick release from the arc combined with her ability to get to the rim allows her to be a consistent offensive threat, while she also makes plays on the defensive end in our 1-3-1 with the use of her length and her understanding of angles.” – Norwell coach Eric Thornton
No. 17 – Whitney Ankenbruck, Homestead
Ankenbruck was a steady, high-impact presence for Homestead during the 2024-25 season, averaging 10.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game while shooting efficiently from all levels of the floor. She converted 43% of her field-goal attempts, including an impressive 40% from beyond the arc, and 84% at the free-throw line. A senior guard committed to Indiana Wesleyan University, Ankenbruck brought veteran leadership and composure to a loaded Spartan lineup. Her consistency and experience made her a key contributor in one of the area’s most competitive backcourts, helping Homestead remain among the elite programs in the state.
Coach’s Quote on Ankenbruck
“Whitney is a great competitor who brings toughness and physical play to the team. Along with being an excellent shooter, she is a high energy player who focuses on the details required to win.” – Homestead coach Rod Parker
No. 16 – Jayma Stonebraker, Whitko
Stonebraker plays with energy, quickness, and defensive tenacity. In the 2024–25 season, Stonebraker averaged 12.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 3.8 steals per game for Whitko as they won both Sectional and Regional titles. She is able to score at a high clip and her shooting percentages have allowed her to take over games in the past. Last season, Stonebraker shot 50 percent from the field, but had 10 games shooting 60 percent or better while still scoring in double figures; she scored a career high 23 points against Woodlan on 71 percent shooting. 11 different times last season, Stonebraker had five or more steals in a game.
Coach’s Quote on Stonebraker
“Jayma will showcase why she’s one of the best juniors in the area and state. She does everything for us and I believe she will have a great junior campaign.” – Whitko coach Justin Jordan
