Outside the Huddle and Blitz are counting down who they feel are the top 50 individual players in northeast Indiana heading into the 2025 season.

Our highest preseason honor, the 7th annual First Eleven profiles the top players (in the mind of Outside the Huddle) entering the fall.

No. 6: DB/Athlete Dee Hogue, senior, Northrop

Need a safety? Dee Hogue can do that.

Running back? Yep, he can do that too.

Wide receiver? Check.

What a burner of a return man? Yes, Hogue has you covered.

One of the truly elite all-around players in our area, Hogue did a little (or a lot) of everything for Bishop Luers year and will do the same for Northrop in 2025.

In helping Bishop Luers reach the Class 3A state championship game a season ago, Hogue registered 1,150 all-purpose yards and nine total touchdowns – seven rushing and two receiving. Defensively, he posted 81 tackles, an area-high nine interceptions and seven passes broken up.

Hogue can run away from you, he can make you miss and he can make a play on the ball if he is even relatively close to where it’s going. He is a dangerous player on every single snap of the game due to his abilities in all three facets of the game. There are not very many players who fit that mold in the state, let alone northeast Indiana.

COACH’S QUOTE ON DEE HOGUE: “Dee Hogue is a ball-hawking, hard-hitting safety who always finds ways to make plays when it matters most.”– Northrop coach Quinton Bowen
