NATHAN FOSTER, LEO

While the biggest game in the NE8 this week may be elsewhere, Leo has an important one too with headstrong Huntington North coming to town. The Vikings are looking to make their biggest statement yet and Leo may need to stay the course to avoid an upset that could take them out of NE8 title contention. Foster has been tough as nails all season and is running as good as anyone in the area most of the time. His 88 carries for 798 yards lead the team; he averages 133 yards per game on the ground and has not run for less than 80 yards in any game this season.

WESTON OTT, CHURUBUSCO

The Eagles looks to wrap up a division title with their final small division NECC foe Central Noble coming to Turtle Town on Friday night. Ott has been Mr. Do Everything for Churubusco through a 3-0 start in the division. He has ran the ball a bit, passed the ball a bit, caught the ball a bit but his real work has been defensively. Second on the team in total tackles with 52, Ott leads the team with 7.5 tackles for loss while also registering a sack, an interception and two forced fumbles this season.

CARTER KENNEDY, HOMESTEAD

The Spartans are ready for a big one against rival Carroll on Friday night and the passing game has looked great for the Spartans more often that not. QB Michael White has a bevvy of capable receivers to work with as seven players have multiple receptions this season. At the forefront is Kennedy, who has hauled in 24 catches for 371 yards and four touchdowns, all team highs for receivers.

LANDON FAZIO, COLUMBIA CITY

Because Columbia City’s passing threat has been so successful throughout this season, the run game hasn’t gotten as much love as the Eagles again have a bit of a three headed monster running the ball. The head of that monster is senior Landon Fazio, who is averaging 12.3 yards per carry and a team best 554 yards rushing with 8 touchdowns. As the Eagles prepare to visit East Noble with massive NE8 title implications, Fazio is coming off three straight 100+ yard performances.
