Sectional boys hoops scores, stats and schedule

The 2021 postseason for boys hoops will kick off Tuesday, with champions to be crowned on Saturday.

Below are the area pairings in their entirety as well as updated scores, stats from games and schedules throughout the week.

CLASS 4A

SECTIONAL 5 AT EAST NOBLE

Tuesday, March 2

Carroll 70, Northrop 41: Jalen Jackson scored 24 points and Zach Castator added 13 points, including four three pointers in his first game back from a broken arm. Castator, Jackson and Sam Strycker each had seven rebounds. Khamani Smith scored 14 to lead Northrop and Jayden Schmenk added 13.
Snider 66, DeKalb 61, 3OT: Karson Jenkins scored 29 points and had 10 rebounds and Jade Moore added 13 points to lead Snider in their quest to repeat as Sectional champions. Cole Richmond led all scorers with 34 points for DeKalb.

Friday, March 5

Carroll 75, North Side 70: Jalen Jackson scored 26 and Ryan Preston added 20 for the Chargers. Sam Strycker added 7 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists.

Snider 69, East Noble 54: Karson Jenkins and Jade Moore each scored 21 for Snider in the win. Chris Hood had 27 points and 13 rebounds for East Noble.

Saturday, March 6

Carroll 63, Snider 53: Jalen Jackson scored 45 points to lead Carroll while Sam Strycker added 8. Snider was led by Karson Jenkins’ 19.

SECTIONAL 6 AT COLUMBIA CITY

Tuesday, March 2

Homestead 62, Huntington North 37: Fletcher Loyer was 11-of-14 from the field and scored a game high 28 points, also having five assists for the Spartans while Luke Goode added 12. Sam Thompson’s 11 points led Huntington North.
Wayne 57, Columbia City 52: Wayne scored 32 points in the fourth quarter after scoring just 25 in the previous three quarters. Cam Toles scored 25 and Javon Lewis added 15 for the Generals. Columbia City was led by 15 from Greg Bolt.

Friday, March 5

Homestead 74, South Side 44: Luke Goode became Homestead’s #2 scorer all-time in the win with his 23 points. Fletcher Loyer added 17 for the Spartans. Ashton Johnson scored 22 for the Archers.

New Haven 77, Wayne 63: Thomas Latham led the way with 26 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks for the Bulldogs while Dre Wright added 17 points.

Saturday, March 6

Homestead 75, New Haven 56: Fletcher Loyer led the Spartans with 30 points and Andrew Leeper scored 18. New Haven was led by Thomas Latham’s 28 points.

West Noble 61, Lakeland 53: Austin Cripe scored 24 for West Noble and Brayden Bontrager scored 25 for Lakeland.

NorthWood 47, Wawasee 46

NorthWood 46, West Noble 40: Zach Beers led West Noble with 11 in the loss while Julio Macias added 10.

SECTIONAL 22 AT WOODLAN

Tuesday, March 2

Concordia Lutheran 75 Woodlan 60: Luke Speckhard scored 17 points, hitting four three pointers and Ajani Washington had 12 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Cadets. Woodlan was led by Joe Reidy’s 23 points.

Wednesday, March 3

Bishop Luers 78, Garrett 50: Isaac Zay led four double figure Luers scorers with 17 points and Johnny Sewell scored 14.
Leo 64, Angola 38: Blake Davison’s 20 points of 4-of-5 three point shooting led Leo. The Lions also got 11 points and 10 rebounds from DJ Allen. Angola was led by 12 points and 11 rebounds from Joel Knox.

Friday, March 5

Bishop Dwenger 66, Concordia 57: Sam Campbell scored 16 and Xavier Nolan had 12 in the win. Concordia was led by Ajani Washington’s 34 points.

Leo 76, Bishop Luers 70 in OT: Blake Davison scored 32 while DJ Allen added 17 points and 10 rebounds for Leo. Bishop Luers’ Naylon Thompson scored 36 and had 13 rebounds.

Saturday, March 6

Leo 55, Bishop Dwenger 45: Blake Davison scored 23 points while DJ Allen had 18 points and 14 rebounds for Leo. Dwenger was led by Brenden Lytle’s 18.

Friday, March 5

Mississinewa 76, Heritage 71

Norwell 66, Bellmont 57: Luke McBride scored 32 and had 9 rebounds for Norwell. Isaiah Wellman had 17 for Bellmont.

Saturday, March 6

Mississinewa 49, Norwell 45: Luke McBride Norwell with 23 points in the loss.


CLASS 2A

SECTIONAL 35 AT WESTVIEW

Tuesday, March 2

Eastside 48, Fairfield 30: Gabe Trevino scored 19 points to lead Eastside. The Blazers also got 12 from Santino Brewer and 11 from Owen Willard in the win.

Wednesday, March 3

Churubusco 89, Prairie Heights 45: Landen Jordan’s 27 points and 16 rebounds led Churubusco while Jackson Paul narrowly missed a triple double with his 19 points, 11 assists and 9 rebounds.
Central Noble 57, Westview 49: Connor Essegian scored 24 points and had 10 rebounds for Central Noble. Westview was led by Mason Yoder’s 26 points.

Eastside 50, Bremen 34

Churubusco 45, Central Noble 40: Jackson Paul had 26 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the win.

Saturday, March 6

Churubusco 49, Eastside 41: Jackson Paul scored 13 points and Landen Jordan had 11 points and 9 rebounds for Churubusco.

Tuesday, March 2

Whitko 56 Wabash 48: Drake Lewis scored 34 to lead Whitko.
Blackhawk Christian 86, Bluffton 44: Hayden Nern scored 18 for Bluffton in the loss.

Wednesday, March 3

Canterbury 70, South Adams 63: Luke Schlabach scored 16 points and Will Shank had 14 points and 10 rebounds for Canterbury. South Adams was led by Trey Schoch’s 15 points and eight assists.
Adams Central 73, Manchester 70

Friday, March 5

Blackhawk Christian 78, Whitko 39: The Braves recorded their state best 100th win in the past four seasons.

Canterbury 51, Adams Central 38: The Cavaliers were paced by Will Shank’s 17 points.

Saturday, March 6

Blackhawk Christian 93, Canterbury 51: Caleb Furst scored 24 points and surpassed 2,000 for his career. Marcus Davidson surpassed 1,000 career points for the Braves as well.

Lakewood Park Christian 78, Hamilton 25: Carter Harman led the way with 21 points while Levi Hindle added 11 for Lakewood Park.

Fremont 60, Lakewood Park 44: Ethan Bontrager led Fremont with 19 points.

Fremont 69, Elkhart Christian 45: Gabel Pentecost scored 28 for Fremont.
