What a monster week for boys scorers in the area. These weren’t just your area superstars, but everyone appeared to be getting in on the scoring last week. The FAN VOTE went the way of Heritage’s Luke Saylor, who you picked as having the Performance of the Week for January 27 through February 1.
Part of a stellar overall week for him, Saylor scored a game high 27 points on Friday in a 55-44 win over Adams Central. It earned him 52.49 percent of the over 4,800 fan votes.
Other nominees included Snider’s Michael Eley, Leo’s Zack Troyer, Norwell’s Will Geiger, New Haven’s Thomas Latham, Canterbury’s Noah Drapala, Manchester’s Weston Hamby, South Side’s Treveon Jones, Northrop’s Qualen Pettus and Churubusco’s Landen Jordan.
These polls will run each Sunday through the season and are not considered a “player of the week,” but will instead focus on who had best performance in a single game during the week, NOT a body of work during the entire week.
Please note: nominees are selected from statistics provided by teams to Outside the Huddle. Is someone potentially missing? Make sure your coach is submitting game night stats and scoring to: othscores@gmail.com
