All-SAC girls basketball teams named

The Summit Athletic Conference released their 2018-2019 all-conference teams on Monday afternoon with members from nine of their 10 schools.

SAC champion Homestead leads the way with five total players among the first team, second team and honorable mention honorees. The Spartans are preparing to play in the Regional round of the postseason as one of two Sectional champion teams in the conference.

The All-SAC First Team consists of Homestead’s Sydney Graber, Sylare Starks and Ayanna Patterson, South Side’s Jaci Jones, Olivia Smith and Alaya Chapman, Bishop Dwenger’s Molly Ream, Bishop Luers’ Lydia Reimbold, Carroll’s Emily Parrett, Concordia Lutheran’s Carissa Garcia and Nautica Rogers and Snider’s Da’Leshia Davis.

Graber, Starks and Garcia are all repeat members of the All-SAC First Team.

The All-SAC Second team consists of Homestead’s Kara Gealy and Haley Swing, Carroll’s Olivia Hoeppner, North Side’s Ranya Coleman, Northrop’s Treva Datcher, TiAuna White and Destiny Jackson and Snider’s Payton Gorman.

Those named All-SAC Honorable Mention are Bishop Dwenger’s Maggie Cheever and Carissa Wiegman, Bishop Luers’ Katelynn Gray, Concordia’s Meg Barkley and South Side’s Darriyn Hackbarth.

Homestead went undefeated in conference regular season play for the fourth season to capture the SAC title. The Spartans went 9-0 and South Side and Bishop Luers each finished 7-2 in the conference. Those teams were followed in the standings, in order, by Concordia, Bishop Dwenger, Carroll, Snider, Northrop, North Side and Wayne.
