DeKalb’s Tanner Jack is Week 8’s Player of the Night

With the regular season ticking away, several players made a lasting impression in Week 8. Ultimately the fans of DeKalb Baron football spoke loudest, declaring Tanner Jack as the Week 8 Player of the Night, sponsored by Rico’s Barbershop.

The sophomore ran the ball 15 times for 110 total yards against Northeast 8 foe Bellmont. He also punched in two touchdowns.

Jack registered nearly 50 percent of the record 6,500 fan votes.

Just behind Jack in the voting was Concordia Lutheran backup quarterback Brandon Davis. He threw for 208 yards and a touchdown in the big win over Class 6A Carroll. Davis collected 34 percent of the vote himself.

Other nominees included Northrop’s Jeremiah Green, Snider’s A’Nyis Lockett, South Adams’ James Arnold, Concordia Lutheran’s Kamari Anderson-Drew, Leo’s A.J. Restivo, Angola’s Jarrett Gibson, East Noble’s Kaiden Harshberger and Homestead’s Luke Goode.

Voting for the Outside the Huddle Player of the Night for prep football opens each Saturday morning and runs through the following Monday night with the winner being announced each Tuesday on OutsidetheHuddle.net
