BLITZ’S PICKS: Sectional semifinals

This may be Blitz’s favorite week of games all year long.

Sectional semifinals. All six classes in action. The pressure really starts ramping up this Friday.

And you know the higher the pressure situation, the more Blitz performs.

So, let’s get to the picks.

Last week: 17-2 (.894)
Overall: 178-34 (.839)

NOBLESVILLE AT CARROLL. Blitz prefaces this pick with the knowledge that yes, the Hoosier Crossroads is a very tough conference, so Noblesville’s 2-7 record isn’t the best indication of how competitive Noblesville can be. That said, Carroll is much better than the Millers. BLITZ SAYS CARROLL BY 28.

NORTHROP AT HOMESTEAD. Don’t you just love SAC rematches in the playoffs? The Bruins earned a 28-16 victory over the Spartans way back in Week 3. What has changed since then and what has stayed the same? Northrop was able to get a key Week 9 win to get back in the win column, while Homestead beat North Side on the road in Week 8. Here’s the question, do the Spartans have enough offense to stay in this game if they can’t slow down the Bruins? Blitz thinks so. BLITZ SAYS HOMESTEAD BY 2.

SOUTH SIDE AT SNIDER. Don’t you just love SAC showdowns in the playoffs that didn’t happen in the regular season? South and Snider meet for the first time in 2026, with the Archers venturing into Class 5A. Special teams and turnovers will be key here. If South can get a big return and multiple changes of possession via turnover, it could stay in this one and be a threat in the second half. If Snider can dictate the tempo with its run game, it will be troublesome for the Archers. BLITZ SAYS SNIDER BY 15.

WAYNE AT WARSAW. The last time Warsaw was one-and-done in two-straight seasons in the playoffs was 2014-15. The Tigers by a lot. BLITZ SAYS WARSAW BY 32.

MCCUTCHEON AT HUNTINGTON NORTH. All four of the Vikings’ losses this season have come against teams that average 24 or more points per game. McCutcheon averages just 16 points a contest. That’s good enough for Blitz. BLITZ SAYS HUNTINGTON NORTH BY 9.

DEKALB AT BISHOP DWENGER. Here’s the thing about having a chance to beat the Saints. You have to be able to dictate the game at the line of scrimmage. DeKalb has athletes on offense and defense. Does it have the beef to match Bishop Dwenger’s physicality for 48 minutes? That’s one aspect of this matchup Blitz just can’t get over. BLITZ SAYS BISHOP DWENGER BY 18.

COLUMBIA CITY AT EAST NOBLE. The last conference team not named Leo to beat East Noble in the playoffs? Columbia City in 2009 when both were part of the defunct NHC. So, it’s been a minute. Columbia City can definitely win this game, but it will need to avoid the miscues that tripped it up in the regular-season matchup with the Knights. Can the Eagles play a near-perfect game in Kendallville and steal a dub? Yes. Does Blitz see it happening? Well…BLITZ SAYS EAST NOBLE BY 7.

LOGANSPORT AT JAY COUNTY. The tandem of Elliot Baldini and Karsen Jackson have combined for 29 rushing touchdowns. Three Logansport players with over 55 carries this season average OVER nine yards per carry. Jay County has one guy who can move the chains on the ground in Leighton Brown. The Berries have several. BLITZ SAYS LOGANSPORT BY 24.

JIMTOWN AT WEST NOBLE. The Chargers are seeking that elusive first sectional title in program history. They cannot overlook the Jimmies, who took down Tippecanoe Valley last week. If anything, that win got the attention of West Noble, which will make sure Jimtown won’t surprise again. BLITZ SAYS WEST NOBLE BY 8.

ANGOLA AT FAIRFIELD. Remember this one-point game in Week 3? Angola held on for the victory in that one, which was one of four of the Hornets’ dubs on the road this year against zero defeats. Will the Falcons’ offense be slowed again by their NECC brethren? It’s tough to beat the same team twice in…you know what? You know the rest. BLITZ SAYS FAIRFIELD BY 1.

BLUFFTON AT NORWELL. An underrated Week 11 showdown. Bluffton has made it look easy through the first 10 weeks of the season, and Norwell’s defense has had difficulty getting stops at times this year. If the Knights can get some momentum early, this could be a game into the second half. If Bluffton plays to its potential, it won’t be close. BLITZ SAYS BLUFFTON BY 13.

ADAMS CENTRAL AT HERITAGE. Is an upset brewing in Monroeville? This was a 14-7 Flying Jets victory back in Week 5. Heritage’s ability to slow down the run game of AC will go a long way towards keeping this one close. The magic number here is 20. AC scores 20 or more, the Patriots won’t be able to keep pace. BLITZ SAYS ADAMS CENTRAL BY 14.

EASTSIDE AT BREMEN. Quiz question. How many teams has Bremen beaten this year that have or finished with a winning record? If you answered zero, you would be correct. Eastside will cruise. BLITZ SAYS EASTSIDE BY 24.

ROCHESTER AT CENTRAL NOBLE. Hey, let’s hear it for the Central Noble Cougars, who picked up a playoff victory last week and gives the program some momentum of sorts. Rochester will win this one, but an extra week of practice can not be discounted. BLITZ SAYS ROCHESTER BY 21.

SOUTH ADAMS AT SOUTHWOOD. Let’s just get to the South Adams v. Fremont game, shall we? BLITZ SAYS SOUTH ADAMS BY 40.

NORTHFIELD AT FREMONT. Let’s just get to the South Adams v. Fremont game, shall we? BLITZ SAYS FREMONT BY 30.
