For the eighth season in a row, Bounce and Outside the Huddle are counting down who they feel are the top 50 individual players in northeast Indiana heading into the 2026-2027 season.

A few insights into Bounce’s protocol:
- This is based on high school impact, not college potential. We get it, there are D1 athletes here lower than non-D1 athletes. This isn’t a recruiting database, this is based purely off of high school output.
- No newbies. Players with previous varsity playing time only
Today, we continue the countdown on the girls hoops side with positions No. 15-11
No. 15: Lucy Kitchen, Eastside
Lucy Kitchen gives Eastside a proven offensive catalyst heading into her senior season, pairing 10 points per game with 6 assists. That combination underscores her value as both a scoring threat and a facilitator who creates opportunities for teammates. The Blazers also return a guard with postseason experience: Kitchen scored 11 points in Eastside’s 2025 win over Andrean that secured the program’s first regional championship since 1979 and she only grew on that experience and success last season with strong performances as Eastside continued championship ways. Her experience and ability to balance scoring with distributing make her a key piece of Eastside’s pursuit of another successful season.
COACH’S QUOTE ON KITCHEN
“I believe that Lucy is one of the best point guards in the area, her command of the game is amazing. Her ability and willingness to get her teammates involved is outstanding. Her vision and passing ability along with her strong ball handling is key to our success. Lucy’s leadership on the floor though, may be her best quality, she us things going and everyone where they need to be.” – Eastside coach Mike Lortie
No. 14: Emma Coffman, Garrett
Emma Coffman enters her junior season as the engine of Garrett’s backcourt and team as a whole. She averaged 16.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.7 steals per game as a sophomore, combining scoring with the ability to create shots for teammates and pressure opposing guards. Coffman scored 29 points in a win over Lakeland and earned All-NECC honors for her 2025–26 season. With another year of varsity experience behind her and the graduation of Garrett’s other top player, she figures to remain central to what the Railroaders do on both ends of the floor. Last season, Coffman had 18 double digit scoring games and set the program’s sophomore single game scoring record twice, now holding the mark at 35 points.
COACH’S QUOTE ON COFFMAN
“Emma is one of the best point guards in the area. Her ability to score the basketball as well as create for her teammates makes her a tough matchup. She leads both with her voice and her commitment to her craft. It is a privilege having her as a coach on the floor for us, and we are excited for her junior season!” – Garrett coach Wade Hantz
No. 13: Harvest Green, Bishop Luers
Harvest Green made an immediate impact at Bishop Luers as a freshman, averaging 16.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3 assists and 1.6 steals, establishing a strong foundation for an even bigger sophomore season. Her combination of scoring, rebounding and playmaking gives the Knights a guard capable of influencing nearly every possession. The next step is translating that offensive presence into a larger defensive role, with the SAC schedule leading the need for that. Green has the potential to become an increasingly complete player and a critical force in reinvigorating Luers girls basketball.
COACH’S QUOTE ON GREEN
“Harvest has put in a lot of work this offseason to improve her shooting and overall efficiency. She is extremely coachable and is always looking for ways to get better. She is also a great competitor who loves a challenge and embraces opportunities to push herself. I think Harvest is only scratching the surface of what she is capable of. She is a force on the offensive end, but we have challenged her to take the next step defensively and become an anchor for us on that end of the floor as well.” – Bishop Luers coach Mary Hathaway
No. 12: Marianne Bleke, Bellmont
Marianne “Mary” Bleke is the force at the center of Bellmont’s offense. She averaged 14.9 points and 7.1 rebounds in 28 games last season and delivered 12 points and 12 rebounds in the Braves’ Class 3A state championship win. Her coach says Bellmont runs much of its offense through her because her strength and athleticism command attention inside, creating open looks for teammates. She can still be a perimeter threat though, despite how much she is relied on inside. She made 36.4 percent of her three-point attempts last year, giving defenses another reason to worry when she has the ball.
COACH’S QUOTE ON BLEKE
“Mary is a force inside. Her post play has been huge for us because she not only makes moves with force and strength but also incredible athleticism. Not only that but this year Mary is going to take her game to the 3-point line because she is one of our best 3-point shooters, so we have to get her shooting more.” – Bellmont coach Andy Heim
No. 11: Mya Turner, Fremont
Mya Turner was a force for Fremont on its run to the Class 1A state championship game. She scored 491 points, averaging 15.8 per game, while shooting 56.5 percent on two-point attempts and 71.3 percent at the free-throw line. Turner also gave the Eagles 7.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 2.6 steals per game, combining efficient scoring with a strong presence on the glass and defense. She reached 1,000 career points during the tournament run and scored 21 in the semi-state title game, showing how much Fremont could count on her in its biggest moments.
COACH’S QUOTE ON TURNER
“Mya is another great leader for our team and does an excellent job of bringing energy and getting her teammates fired up when we need it. She can score in a variety of ways, which makes her such an important piece of our team. Defensively, her combination of height and speed gives us a lot of versatility and is extremely valuable to what we want to do on that end of the floor.” – Fremont coach Shae Thomas
