
This week begins play in the 51st annual IHSAA Girls’ Basketball State Tournament with sectionals around the state.
Outside the Huddle has all of the area sectional schedules below, which will be updated with scores and future matchups culminating in title games on Saturday night.

• Torah Holler scored 20 points for Columbia City; teammate Anisa Tonkel added 12 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Elyse Mead scored 13 for West Noble.
Fairfield 45, Wawasee 38
• Madison Jones scored 16 to lead Fairfield, surpassing 1,000 for her career and becoming just the 6th Fairfield girls basketball player to do so and second this season. Macy Worthman added 12 points for the Falcons.

• Abbie Harris had a game best 18 points for DeKalb, hitting five three pointers. Teammate Ellington Sparkman hit four threes of her own and scored 14 points. Bishop Dwenger got 15 points from Matilyn Johannsen and Annie O’Brien had 14.

Leo 52, Garrett 29
• Leo held just an 18-15 advantage at the half before breaking it open in the third quarter. Stella Schelm led Leo with 16 points while Leah Shappell added 14. Garrett was paced by 10 points from Emma Coffman.
East Noble 56, Angola 40
• East Noble had three in double figures, led by Rian David’s 16 points. Averi Amstutz added 11 and Shaye Ritchie scored 10 for the Knights, while Angola was led by Kendall VanderWal’s 18 points. Angola got out to a 5-0 lead early.

• Nyomi Hahn had 35 points for Marion and surpassed 1,000 for her career. New Haven’s A’lanah Webb became the schools all-time leading scorer, surpassing Mike Sickafoose. Webb finishes her career with 1,330 points and averaged 20.1 ppg as a senior.
