Kaden Grau of Westview is your FAN CHOICE as the Boys Basketball Preseason Player of the Year

The first fan vote of the 2025-26 boys basketball season is complete and your voices have been heard.

After more than 300,000 total votes were cast over the four rounds of voting, Westview’s Kaden Grau has been chosen by the FANS as the Preseason Boys Basketball Player of the Year, brought to you by Crazy Pinz.

In the final round, Grau secured 55.5 percent of the nearly 125,000 votes to top Jay County’s Gradin Swoveland for the FAN VOTE crown.

In the opening round, Grau placed first in the Betten Region, earning the third overall seed of the top 8 vote recipients from the regional round.

In the quarterfinals, Grau topped North Side’s Sebastian Moore to advance. In the semi finals, Grau was victorious over Snider’s Xavier Wilson.

In all four rounds, Grau secured over 116,000 total votes.
