Myah Epps of Homestead is your FAN CHOICE as the Girls Basketball Preseason Player of the Year

The first fan vote of the 2025-26 girls basketball season is complete and your voices have been heard.

After more than 325,000 total votes were cast over the four rounds of voting, Homestead’s Myah Epps has been chosen by the FANS as the Preseason Girls Basketball Player of the Year, brought to you by Crazy Pinz.

In the final round, Epps secured 66.5 percent of the nearly 78,000 votes to top Fremont’s Mya Turner for the FAN VOTE crown. It was her third straight round topping a player from the NECC in the FAN VOTING.

In the opening round, Epps placed second in the Patterson Region, earning the 6th overall seed of the top 8 vote recipients from the regional round.

In the quarterfinals, Epps topped Fairfield’s Eva Herbert to advance. In the semi finals, Epps was victorious over Eastside’s Taylor Mack.

In all four rounds, Epps secured over 74,000 total votes.
