Today, we continue the countdown on the girls hoops side with positions No. 40-36
No. 40 – Carly Moellering, Homestead
Moellering provided a steady scoring punch and valuable leadership for Homestead, averaging 7.9 points, 3.0 assists, and 2.2 rebounds per game while shooting 39% from the field, including 37% from three-point range, and 83% at the free-throw line. A senior guard committed to Indiana Wesleyan University, she excelled at spacing the floor and knocking down key perimeter shots, often stretching defenses to create opportunities for teammates. Beyond her production, Moellering’s composure and leadership made her an invaluable presence for the Spartans, helping guide one of the area’s most talented and disciplined backcourts.

No. 39 – Emma Coffman, Garrett
Coffman has already made a strong impression in her career as she heads into season two. She averaged 11.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.7 steals per game, showcasing her all-around capability on both ends of the floor. Her play earned her a spot on the OTH All-Freshman Team, highlighting her as one of the emerging young talents in the conference and Northeast Indiana. With a balanced stat line that includes playmaking and defensive disruption, Coffman is shaping up as a go-to option in Garrett’s backcourt for the seasons ahead.

No. 38 – Abby Pliett, Central Noble
Central Noble’s offensive attack last season was fueled by Pliett, who emerged as the team’s leading scorer with 10.1 points per game. A tenacious presence on the floor, she also averaged 4.9 rebounds, providing key support on the glass, while contributing 1.6 assists to keep the Cougars’ offense moving. Pliett scored a season best 20 points against Fremont and posted a 16 point/10 rebound double double against Woodlan. Pliett, who averaged a steal per game, also had a season best four swipes against Goshen.

No. 37 – Dulce Canedo, Lakeland
Canedo has been a key offensive threat and playmaker, averaging 11.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 32% from the field, 28% from three, and 68% at the free-throw line last season for the Lakers. Known for her willingness to let it fly from deep, she tied for the fifth-most three-pointers in a single season (46) and already ranks sixth all-time at Lakeland with 92 career threes and sits 48 of those makes away from breaking the program’s all-time record for most three-pointers. Her outside shooting ability stretches defenses, and her combination of scoring, passing, and defensive instincts makes her an impactful all-around guard for the Lakers.

“Dulce is one of the more underrated players in the area. As a player, she runs the offense, scores at all three levels, is a tough defender, and has an extremely high basketball IQ. She couples that with an unending work ethic and a desire to be the best version of herself for our team. She has been a captain for us since her Sophomore year because of the example she sets. If she continues to be more aggressive and vocal as a leader, she is primed for big things her Senior Year.” – Lakeland coach James Benson
No. 36 – Addison Deming, East Noble
Deming emerged as a key contributor for the East Noble girls’ basketball team during the 2024-25 season as they became Sectional champions. As a junior forward, she ranked third on the team in scoring with 9.0 points per game while also averaging 3.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.4 steals per contest. One of her best outings came on November 26, when she scored 18 points on 9-of-14 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds in a win over North Side. Her steady production and ability to impact the game in several ways, especially with her length, made her one of the Knights’ most reliable and versatile players throughout the season.

“Addi is like a tool box, she has everything you would need. Length, IQ, defense, competitiveness, scoring ability. Her game has grown a lot in the past years. A lot of that is because of her hitting the weight room a lot harder and using her strengths. Every mid range she takes, feels like it’s always in.
