As always, we kick off our Friday mornings with five players to watch this week. Who is important in Week 3? Who’s a matchup problem? Did they shine in Week 2?

Here are the five guys you should keep an extra eye on tonight.

Hawk Hasselman, Angola (vs. Fremont)

Northeast Indiana may not have a more diverse player than Hasselman, who is just a do-it-all utility guy for an Angola team looking to rally back after a Week 2 loss. Angola can be big and bruising and Hasselman makes that happen everywhere on the field. Just last week, Hasselman had nine carries, a reception, kicked, returned kickoffs and punts and added seven tackles. Versatility at its most effective.

Wes Summersett, South Adams (at Bluffton)

Who is South Adams? We should find out more tonight than we have the first two weeks against a really tough opponent in Week 1 (Marion Local) and the opposite in Week 2 (Bellmont). Summersett has been a major weapon for the Starfire offense so far, totaling a team-best 134 yards on seven receptions with a pair of touchdowns. His ability to be both a deep threat and a short threat makes him an important piece in this rivalry game.

Jake Krauss, Heritage (vs. Woodlan)

The leading rusher for the Patriots, Krauss is a major name to know in the ACAC going forward. Are the Patriots getting enough love at 2-0? Hard to say, but Krauss has been a solid constant, going for 73 yards against Bellmont and another 68 opposite Delta. Krauss can also be a pass catcher for Heritage, though used just once so far. As the Patriots continue to figure out their offense early in the season, Krauss will continue to be an impact player.

Trevor Steele, West Noble (at Eastside)

He did a little bit of everything in Week 2 and with perennial NECC power Eastside looking better than perhaps expected, Steele will need to continue to be on his game tonight. It would have been enough for him to just have two interceptions last week, but Steele also caught an 87-yard touchdown pass. His speed mixed with physicality is something to watch.

Titus Stoller, Leo (at Norwell)

The Lions hit five different targets through the air last Friday, with two of them scoring touchdowns. Stoller is a senior and brings a confidence to the Leo passing game that some thought would be lacking in 2025. He has been an early season revelation to help Leo to 2-0 with over 230 yards of offense last week; passing for 166 and running for 67. The Lions aren’t a one-trick pony with just Nathan Foster in the backfield and teams will need to track down Stoller to beat Leo.
