SECTIONAL 52 @ Fremont

Projected Winner: Bethany Christian

Sectional 52 is a tricky one as there is no team that has a winning record. The combined record of the sectional teams is 37-94. That being said, Bethany Christian and Lakeland Christian enter a Sectional 52 best 10-13 and both got good draws. Bethany Christian will face 3-19 host Fremont and Lakeland Christian will take on 1-19 Hamilton. A win for LC means a date with Canterbury who has the second best record in the sectional, which the Cavs could make that one interesting. A win for BC and it is a date with 5-16 Lakewood Park. The Bethany Christian Cougars are 4-0 against Sectional 52 opponents, and have not yet played Lakewood Park (their potential Semi Final opponent) and Canterbury (A potential Championship opponent). Bethany Christian beat Fremont in the regular season finale 40-35.

Player You Can’t Miss: Micah Martin

Lakeland Christian’s Senior PG averages 19 points per game for the Cougars. If LCA makes a run, it will definitely be because of Martin’s performances. He has put the Cougars on his back all season long and will look to continue his career with a Sectional Title.

Don’t Be Surprised If: Canterbury Comes Out On Top

Let’s face it, it has not been the season the Cavs had hoped for after winning a state title. With the second best record in Sectional 52 (8-14) and drawing a bye, they can regroup and get a fresh start and make some noise. They will have to go through Lakeland Christian or Hamilton to get to the title, but do not count the Cavs out for a potential Sectional 52 winner.

SECTIONAL 55 @ Southwood

Projected Winner: Southwood

Once again, this is not an eye appealing sectional, but there is no clear runaway winner for this one. Southwood will rematch Northfield in the opening round (Knights won 55-41). Southwood is 3-0 against Sectional 55 competition and the host site so the road to the Regional runs through them. The draw was not kind to Southwood though as they will play the team with the third best record in this sectional. Can Northfield pull off an opening round upset on the road?

Player You Can’t Miss: Josiah Love

Wes-Del’s Senior Guard averages 23 points per game for the Warriors. He leads all scorers in this sectional and if Wes-Del is to make a run in this thing, Love will be a crucial part in it.

Don’t Be Surprised If: Tri-Central gets to Saturday

As stated before, this sectional is wide open, with no true clear path for one team. The surprise of this sectional very well could be Tri-Central hoisting the trophy on Saturday night.
