Top 50 Boys Basketball Countdown 2024: No. 30-26

For the sixth season in a row, Bounce and Outside the Huddle are counting down who they feel are the top 50 individual players in northeast Indiana heading into the 2024-2025 season.

Today, we continue the countdown on the boys hoops side with positions No. 30-26.

No. 30 – Avery McFarlane, Lakewood Park

McFarlane is a standout player with impressive length that he uses to his advantage, making him a formidable threat on both ends of the court. Averaging 12 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 1 block per game last season, he has a well-rounded game that keeps opponents on edge. His reach and agility allow him to maneuver around defenders, creating scoring opportunities and disrupting plays defensively.

No. 29 – Mason Treesh, East Noble

Treesh is an all-around athlete who brings both skill and versatility to the court, coming off a successful football season ready to make an impact in basketball. Last year, he averaged 8.6 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game, proving himself as a strong lead guard with the ability to contribute in multiple areas. His natural athleticism and competitive edge allow him to fill various roles across the lineup, giving his team valuable flexibility.

No. 28 – Nathan Bowker, East Noble

Bowker is a skilled and confident floor general who brings control to the court, whether playing as the lead guard or working off the ball. Last season, he averaged 7.6 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists. Bowker excels as a downhill driver, consistently reading defenses to determine the best scoring or passing option. His ability to pull up from midrange, attack the rim, or set up his teammates with his sharp court vision makes him a somewhat cerebral offensive threat and a reliable leader on the floor. Him having poise and command of the game could be vital assets for his team this season.

No. 27– Sol Richard, Leo

Richard made a strong impression last season with a breakout season for the Lions, establishing himself as a reliable and composed presence on the court. Despite not being a “true” point guard, he demonstrated his ability to lead and make smart decisions under pressure, earning the trust of his coaches and teammates alike. Averaging 8.8 points and 3.9 rebounds per game, Richard showed he can impact the game on both ends, contributing scoring and stability. The leadership experience he gained last year has prepared him to step into an even bigger role this season.

No. 26 – Bryce Sefton, Blackhawk Christian

Sefton is a smart, poised player with a deep understanding of the game, honed by a strong family legacy in local basketball. Last season, he averaged 8.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game for the Braves, proving he can deliver under pressure and lead his team effectively. His ability to handle heavy defensive pressure has helped set him apart a bit, and with his experience and composure, Sefton is primed to be an instrumental figure in the Braves’ success this season.
