Bounce’s Picks for the Week of November 28

One of these times I’ll learn my lesson. But this isn’t one of those times. I had one of my best weeks, talked a big game then followed it up with an average week.

Like any good shooter, I always think the next one is going in. So this is going to be another great week of picks.

LAST WEEK: 7-5

2022-23 RECORD: 28-11 (.718)

BOYS

North Side at Blackhawk Christian, Tuesday

The Legends took a beating at Cathedral last week and it’s the season opener for the Braves with first-year coach Matt Roth. It’s a matchup of two top teams in the area each with a top five player in the area. The Braves will also dedicate their home floor to the late Marc Davidson. It’ll be an emotional night for sure. BOUNCE PICKS BLACKHAWK CHRISTIAN

Concordia at Bellmont, Tuesday

Both teams are 1-1 after the first week of play and both are coming off double-digits losses. The Cadets have more in the end. BOUNCE PICKS CONCORDIA

Wayne at Leo, Wednesday

Love what I’m seeing so far from Jackson McGee and Trey Hiteshew for the Lions. It’s the first game of the season for Wayne. Leo might have already knocked off some rust but I don’t think Wayne has much rust that needs to be knocked off. BOUNCE PICKS WAYNE

Jay County at Woodlan, Friday

The Warriors with two quality wins to start the 2022-23 season and Bounce believes they keep it rolling. BOUNCE PICKS WOODLAN

Prairie Heights at Fairfield, Friday

The Panther squeaked by a pesky Garrett squad on Saturday. Does it mean the NECC might be more competitive than we thought? Maybe, but Prairie Heights should still handle business. BOUNCE PICKS PRAIRIE HEIGHTS

Oak Hill at Norwell, Saturday

Don’t look too much into the Knights’ loss to Carroll because the Chargers might be fully back after a down 2021-22 campaign. Norwell ended the Golden Eagles’ season last year so they’re out for some revenge. However, the loss should ignite a fire back into the Knights. BOUNCE PICKS NORWELL

West Noble at Wawasee, Saturday

The Chargers are really good. But just how good? We might not know until the end of next month when the competition gets tougher. The Warriors know how to muck up a game, but the Chargers have too much firepower. BOUNCE PICKS WEST NOBLE

GIRLS

Angola at Fairfield, Tuesday

The Falcons and Hornets both played Concord and Northridge in NLC-NECC Classic. Fairfield went 2-0 while Angola split its two games. The Falcons top talent is better and are shooting it really well. BOUNCE PICKS FAIRFIELD

Columbia City at Bishop Dwenger, Tuesday

Locally, we know the Eagles are pretty darn good, but when will the rest of the state start to take notice? They’ve beaten some very good teams and taken it to some lesser ones. BOUNCE PICKS COLUMBIA CITY

Eastside at Woodlan, Tuesday

This one has all the makings of a low-scoring, grind-it-out game. Almost like a football game that is back and forth and whoever has the ball last. BOUNCE PICKS WOODLAN

Goshen at Central Noble, Tuesday

If you haven’t noticed yet, the Cougars are 8-0. And they’re not just eeking out wins. They are dominating teams, and the RedHawks are just the latest victim. BOUNCE PICKS CENTRAL NOBLE

Carroll at Northrop, Wednesday

It’s a long week for Carroll. It plays four games in five days and this is the second one and maybe the most important. Northrop’s length will be an issue for the Chargers. BOUNCE PICKS NORTHROP

Homestead at Carroll, Friday

If the Chargers beat the Bruins on Wednesday, then this becomes the most important game of the week and the rest of their SAC schedule. The Spartans are a better matchup for the Chargers. BOUNCE PICKS CARROLL

Norwell at Huntington North, Friday

At the start of the season, I didn’t think this matchup would have as much intrigue as it does. The individual matchup of Taylor Double vs. Kennedy Fuelling will also be very fun to watch. The Vikings have been the surprise story so far this season. Why not ride the hot hand? BOUNCE PICKS HUNTINGTON NORTH

Bellmont at DeKalb, Saturday

The Baron are going to try and slow the game down and make it a rock fight. Bounce believes Bellmont will be able to control the pace in this one. BOUNCE PICKS BELLMONT
