
After over 5,600 votes cast in the final round, your choice is in…Homestead’s Jackson Christmon is the FAN CHOICE Preseason Football Player of the Year.
Christmon secured 77.83 percent of the final round fan vote to beat out Heritage’s Rylan Whitacre. Christmon and the Spartans open their season this Friday as they host Northrop.
Christmon came out of the first round as the seventh highest vote recipient of the 40 players that began the first FAN VOTE of the 2022 season. He was the highest vote recipient however in the James Arnold Region to advance to the quarterfinal round.
In the quarterfinals, Christmon beat out Snider’s Langston Leavell with 54.08 percent of that fan vote.
In the semi final round, Christmon secured 71.35 percent of the vote to top Northrop’s Jayden Schmenk and advance to the finals.
Over 34,000 total votes were cast across the four rounds, with Christmon receiving 26.7 percent of those votes overall.
