Who does Bounce have winning all of the boys basketball area conferences this season? Well that is why you clicked on this article isn’t it?
There should be some really fun races with not a single conference being wrapped up by any means now. You’ve seen our countdown of where teams are as we start the season but this isn’t that. This is where we see teams at season’s end. Bounce will give you his predicted order of finish for all four area conference.
Agree? Disagree?
SUMMIT ATHLETIC CONFERENCE
1. Homestead
Why?: Look, this is a wild conference. There are some top end teams but at the same time, Bounce wouldn’t be surprised if spots 2-10 in this list shift. That is how much parity there can be in the SAC this year. So I guess take my predictions with a grain of salt? No matter how you cut it though, Homestead has the best player in the SAC and their coach is pretty good too, ya know?
2. Snider
3. Northrop
4. North Side
5. Carroll
6. South Side
7. Bishop Luers
8. Bishop Dwenger
9. Wayne
10. Concordia Lutheran
NORTHEAST 8 CONFERENCE
1. Leo
Why?: Because this team is stronger in some areas than a team that went to the state finals last season. they don’t have a big time scorer right now like they had last season, but the additions of players like Caedmon Bontrager, Jackson McGee and Trey Hiteshew say that they won’t drop off too much in production, especially defensively.
2. Norwell
3. Huntington North
4. New Haven
5. DeKalb
6. East Noble
7. Columbia City
8. Bellmont
ALLEN COUNTY ATHLETIC CONFERENCE
1. Heritage
Why?: A healthy lineup means that Heritage can absolutely shoot the lights out. It will be hard for teams to keep up with the Patriots if they start hitting. They may struggle a bit with height losing their top inside player from a year ago, but if you make a high percentage of shots, then it will matter less.
2. Woodlan
3. Adams Central
4. Jay County
5. South Adams
6. Bluffton
7. Southern Wells
NORTHEAST CORNER CONFERENCE
1. Central Noble
Why?: Well this has really been Central Noble’s conference (or at least co-conference) for two seasons but a bit of growing pains have meant that they’ve only been able to get 2.5 of the four NECC crowns in that time. Don’t expect that to be the case this season. Led by one of the state’s best players, this Cougars team may not go unbeaten in the NECC but it is hard to believe they have an equal right now.
2. Fremont
3. Eastside
4. Westview
5. West Noble
6. Fairfield
7. Angola
8. Prairie Heights
9. Lakeland
10. Churubusco
11. Garrett
12. Hamilton
