Outside the Huddle and Blitz are counting down who they feel are the top 50 individual players in northeast Indiana heading into the 2021 season.
Our highest preseason honor, this placement at #11 is the first spot on our third-annual First 11 list.
No. 11: WR/S Brody Glenn, senior, Bishop Luers
Anyone who wasn’t familiar with Brody Glenn sure got an introduction when he went for 172 yards and a touchdown in the Class 2A state title game last year. What he did against Western Boone is what he did to opposing defenses all year long, amassing 65 receptions for 1,265 yards and 16 touchdowns. After being held without a receiving touchdown through the first two weeks of last season, Glenn scored at least once in every game thereafter.
Glenn’s physique isn’t dropping any jaws, but he is deceptively strong and is great at meeting the ball at the apex of his jump. He uses his body to position himself against defensive backs and his speed is a weapon that he employs in everything from go routes downfield to crossing routes over the middle.
Glenn is a lifeline for Bishop Luers quarterback Carson Clark, who knows that no matter what, he can throw the ball up to Glenn and he will come down with it somehow.
COACH’S QUOTE ON BRODY GLENN
“Brody has speed to run by defenders, size to go up and make plays in traffic and strength to come down with just about everything he gets his hands on. His agility and work ethic have made him a great route runner. He’s an excellent blocker as well. He takes no plays off. He’s truly become an expert in his craft. He has also become a team leader. We’re looking forward to seeing what he can do his senior season.” – Bishop Luers coach Kyle Lindsay
