No. 1 – Norwell
Records: 8-0 overall; 2-0 NE8; 2-0 vs. current Top 10
Previous Rank: 1
Nothing has changed for the Knights in the last week, just adding an expectedly dominant win over DeKalb. The Knights are best team until someone beats them. Can anyone do that? Their next two non-tournament games are at home against top 10 Warsaw and Carroll, so time will tell. But as of today, Norwell has been untouchable.
Best win: Garrett
No. 2 – Carroll
Records: 7-2 overall; 2-0 SAC; 1-0 vs. current Top 10
Previous Rank: 2
No change for Carroll with no games. A fun Northridge Tournament remains before the end of 2020 but for now the Chargers just have to sit and wait. But as good as they were before they exited, their sit and wait will remain in second place.
Best win: Homestead
No. 3 – South Side
Records: 7-1 overall; 4-0 SAC; 1-0 vs. current Top 10
Previous Rank: 3
Beating Jay County on Saturday is the first game we’ve really had to solidify the Archers against a top 10 team in the area. Not that we needed it per say. We know now that they are just getting deeper every game and Lamyia Woodson is a scary presence inside. Even against teams with a high end scorer, like Jay County, the Archers are too deep.
Best win: Jay County
No. 4 – Garrett
Records: 10-1 overall; 4-0 NECC; 1-1 vs. current Top 10
Previous Rank: 4
They are on a bit of a break themselves now with their next game not scheduled until December 30 at Churubusco. Here is something to keep in mind though: the Railroaders are alternates for the Hall of Fame Classic should a team drop out. Salivating at the idea of another Garrett/Norwell game.
Best win: Concordia Lutheran
No. 5 – Homestead
Records: -7-3 overall; 3-1 SAC; 0-1 vs. current Top 10
Previous Rank: 5
The Spartans have now won three straight as they face arguably the toughest five game stretch of their season ahead. Homestead is answering questions by getting depth in their scoring while Ayanna Patterson stays consistent. If Ali Stephens can keep providing so well nightly, Homestead will keep winning.
Best win: Noblesville

No. 6 – Concordia Lutheran
Records: 7-2 overall; 2-0 SAC; 0-2 vs. current Top 10
Previous Rank: 6
No more games for Concordia, another one of our top ten teams sitting in break mode. They possibly return on December 30 at Homestead for a random 10 a.m. game. But since that one has already been postponed twice, we aren’t getting our hopes up.
Best win: Northrop
No. 7 – Jay County
Records: 8-2 overall; 1-0 ACAC; 1-1 vs. current Top 10
Previous Rank: 7
Renna Schwieterman introduced herself more to the casual Fort Wayne basketball fan. Her high level of scoring was on full display in a loss to South Side and Bounce fielded a few texts talking about how good she was. People were surprised, Bounce was not. And those people won’t be as they get to see her play more. Jay County lost that one, but gained a lot in defeat.
Best win: Bellmont
No. 8 – Lakeland
Records: 9-2 overall; 4-0 NECC; 0-1 vs. current Top 10
Previous Rank: 9
Winners of seven straight, the Lakers are finding ways to win every night. They have three or four legit scorers who could be high level scorers on any given night. Activity and effort is moving the Lakers up a spot this week.
Best win: Fairfield
No. 9 – Warsaw
Records: 9-2 overall; 2-0 NLC; 0-0 vs. current Top 10
Previous Rank: 10
Two dominant wins this week didn’t teach us much about the Tigers other than they are solid and can stay consistent without playing down to an opponent. Warsaw’s best basketball will be challenged this week against Norwell.
Best win: Snider
No. 10 – Bellmont
Records: 7-1 overall; 1-0 NE8; 0-1 vs. current Top 10
Previous Rank: 9
Another looooong break in Adams County and what can we say about the Squaws? What will be something to keep an eye on and potentially impressive is how they come back from yet another long break. We won’t see Bellmont again until December 29 before an absolutely loaded January 2021 schedule.
Best win: Bishop Luers or Heritage
IN THE ARGUMENT (in no particular order)
Blackhawk Christian 12-2
Heritage 9-5
Bluffton 7-3
Huntington North 6-4
West Noble 8-2
Fairfield 8-4
