Sectional time is fully in gear and the first week of the season saw some great performances in Classes 1A through 4A. In a possible preview of what’s to come in Class 4A, there was a battle at the top and ultimately, Leo Lion Dallen Wirtz was made your FAN CHOICE Week 10 Player of the Night, sponsored by Craigville Appliance.
Wirtz recorded 10 tackles, including 3.5 sacks in a 14-7 Sectional win over Northridge. That earned him 38.42 percent of the over 6,300 fan votes. He is the third different Lion to capture a FAN CHOICE Player of the Night win this season.
Other nominees included: East Noble’s Rowan Zolman, Norwell’s Max Ringger, Prairie Heights’ Luke Severe, Fairfield’s Cory Lantz, South Adams’ James Arnold, Bishop Luers’ Carson Clark, Eastside’s Laban Davis, South Side’s Javonte Malone and Wayne’s Christian Flannigan.
