Zane Burke of Blackhawk Christian is your FAN VOTE for boys hoops Player of the Year

Before Outside the Huddle rolls out our official All-Area team and Player of the Year pick, we wanted you, the fans to have a say. So for the past two weeks, you have been voting to narrow down a field of 56 boys basketball players to your favorite.

After over 6,600 votes in the final round alone, the FAN VOTE has chosen Zane Burke of Blackhawk Christian as the FAN VOTE Player of the Year. Burke earned 69.39 percent of the final round vote to edge out New Haven’s Donovynn Lewis in the final round.

In the semi final round, Burke earned over 92 percent of the vote in beating Snider’s Michael Eley. The quarterfinal round saw Burke earn 65 percent of the vote in beating out Bluffton’s Konner Norman. In the opening round, Burke was the top vote getter in the Eagle/Warrior Region; he had the 6th most total votes in the opening round of 56 players.

Overall in four rounds, Burke earned 27 percent of the over 36,000 votes cast.

This year’s OFFICIAL Outside the Huddle All-Area team will be named on Wednesday, April 15 with the official OTH Player of the Year for boys basketball being named on Thursday, April 16.
