A lot of heavily contested games made up one of the closing weeks of boys basketball season. At the end of the week, the FAN VOTE for the player with the Performance of the Week went to DeKalb’s Caleb Nixon.
Nixon scored 30 points, hitting four three pointers, on Thursday in 59-47 win over Bellmont. It earned him 46.92 percent of the over 3,600 fan votes.
Other nominees included Central Noble’s Connor Essegian, Carroll’s Richie Gross, Norwell’s Will Geiger, Bishop Luers’ Naylon Thompson, Fairfield’s Nolin Sharick, Leo’s DJ Allen, Columbia City’s Mitchell Wilson, Churubusco’s Jackson Paul, East Noble’s Hayden Jones, Wayne’s Michael Redding and Blackhawk Christian’s Marcus Davidson.
These polls will run each Sunday through the season and are not considered a “player of the week,” but will instead focus on who had best performance in a single game during the week, NOT a body of work during the entire week.
Please note: nominees are selected from statistics provided by teams to Outside the Huddle. Is someone potentially missing? Make sure your coach is submitting game night stats and scoring to: othscores@gmail.com
