Former Homestead standout Bennet Skowronek is headed closer to home, even by just an hour or so.
The Northwestern wide receiver announced via Twitter on Wednesday that he will play his final season of college football at Notre Dame.
“I would like to thank the schools that recruited me the past few weeks,” said Skowronek in a tweet. “…after taking a visit last month I have signed with the University of Notre Dame.”
Skowronek, a team captain, played in just three games for the Wildcats this season after suffering an injury. His first three years with Northwestern saw the wideout haul in 110 receptions for close to 1,400 yards and eight touchdowns.
Skowronek will have one year of eligibility remaining as a grad transfer.
