Tobe Eke of Bishop Dwenger is the Player of the Night for the Regional round

Only three teams remain playing in high school football season, but there were more than four candidates for being the Player of the Night for the Regional round, which featured seven area teams. In the end, it was a relatively new face for an old power that took the FAN VOTE win.

Tobe Eke of Bishop Dwenger ran the ball 20 times for 120 yards and two touchdowns in a 35-21 win over Harrison. That earned him 45.01 percent of the more than 7,300 fan votes. He is the second Player of the Night from Bishop Dwenger this season.

He edged out Adams Central’s Blake Heyerly for the honor. Other nominees included East Noble’s Bailey Parker, Bishop Dwenger’s Gage Renbarger, Concordia’s Brandon Davis and Homestead’s Luke Goode.

Fan voting for Player of the Night for football opens each Saturday morning. You can choose your favorite candidate through the following Tuesday at noon.

NOTE: Your favorite player not getting noticed? Outside the Huddle fan vote nominees are based on game night statistics provided by the teams. Make sure your coach is sending in stats on Friday night to othscores@gmail.com
