In Fort Wayne and even the area, some of the teams and players get forgotten more than they should. One of those players, who comes from an 8-16 team is Alexis German, a head strong point guard who has been one of the best players in the Northeast Corner Conference for some time, despite not getting much high profile praise.
The trick of the trade in 2019-2020 will be if German can dial up consistent play against the NECC’s elite. She struggled against the likes of West Noble or Angola last season, but when she was on her game she was as good as anyone on the floor, like her 24 points against Heritage or 23 against East Noble. German is very smart playing the game of basketball, well trained and take an educated approach when she is on the court. That said, she is also a high volume shooter, maximizing her chances to more Prairie Heights up the hierarchy of the conference. Shooting at a 35 percent clip, she shot less 10 shots on just eight occasions last season.
German does a great job of getting to the rim and creating contact. At the line, she hits 74 percent of her foul shots. German led her team in points (10.2), assists (2.5) and steals (1.9) per game.
“Alexis is a point guard with great court vision and a high IQ for the game of basketball,” says Prairie Heights coach Taylor Terry. “Expecting her to lead her team to an above .500 season in her last go around.”

Lex German is one of the areas best point guards. She understands what is needed in game situations and controls the game as a good point guard should. She’s a leader and motivator who doesn’t need to be prompted to challenge her team to be better. Looking forward to a solid senior year from her!
