South Adams has been able to lean on Lydia Loshe for three seasons on the varsity level for various roles. In her fourth and senior season with the Starfires, her role is now 100 percent to be the go-to force.
The Starfires played just three upperclassmen consistently in 2018-19 and now Loshe is the only of those back and will be the only senior on the roster according to coach Brett Freeman. The biggest trick for Loshe in her final season will be balancing her inside and outside games. She became known as one of the best long range shooters in the ACAC last season, knocking down 38 three pointers including shooting an impressive 5-of-8 against Eastbrook. She also shot 40 percent from inside the arc and 71 percent from the free throw line.
Loshe averaged 11.7 points and a team high 5.6 rebounds for South Adams in 2018-19. While she is a great outside shooter and aggressive rebounder at times, the look at Loshe this season will be to see how she gets over some passive tendencies.
“She’s done a nice job extending her range to several feet behind the line,” Freeman says. “She’ll be depended upon to put the ball in the basket frequently.”
