An exciting second week of action saw more players finding their comfort zone and others just opening eyes of area fans with their big number accomplishments. In the end, you chose Leo’s Peyton Wall as your FAN VOTE Player of the Night for Week 2 of the high school football season.

Wall earned 36 percent of the more than 7,500 fan votes casts. He ran for 183 yards and four touchdowns in a 33-13 win over Angola, lighting up the field in the first half and finishing up after three quarters to help guide the Lions to a 2-0 start for the first time since 2016.
To earn the fan vote, Wall narrowly edged out NE8 foe Gage Ernsberger of East Noble. Other nominees included Bishop Luers’ Christian Fly, South Adams’ James Arnold, Churubusco’s Jake Fulk, Huntington North’s Devan Newcomb, Columbia City’s Greg Bolt, Carroll’s Jeffrey Becker, Northrop’s Nigel Robertson, Snider’s Jon Barnes Jr. and Homestead’s Braeden Hardwick.
Fan voting for Player of the Night opens each Saturday morning. You can choose your favorite candidate through the following Tuesday at noon.
