All-ACAC boys basketball teams named

The Allen County Athletic Conference voted on their All-Conference teams earlier in the week, to be released when all of the member teams were out of the postseason. That occurred today with Southern Wells and Bluffton’s Regional losses.

Conference champion Jay County had three players to lead the way. The ACAC only names 12 total players to All-Conference first and second teams.

The six player All-ACAC First Team consists of Jay County’s Michael Schlechty, Adams Central’s Kevin Brown, Heritage’s Cameron Mitchell and Alec Burton, Bluffton’s Johnathan Irwin and Woodlan’s Joe Reidy.

The All-ACAC Second Team consists of Jay County’s Ryan Schlechty and Parker Grimes Adams Central’s Dylan Miller, Southern Wells’ Thomas Biddle, Woodlan’s Mitch Mendenhall and Bluffton’s Tanner Cooley.

Jay County did win the ACAC regular season with a perfect 6-0 record. They were followed by, in order, Heritage, Adams Central, Bluffton, Southern Wells, Woodlan and South Adams.

Heritage was the winner of the ACAC Tournament while Bluffton and Southern Wells scored Sectional titles, meaning that four of the conference’s seven teams won some sort of title during the 2018-2019 season.
