Central Noble’s Bridgette Gray is the FAN CHOICE for girls hoops Performer of the Year

After two weeks of voting, the fans and readers of Outside the Huddle have narrowed a field of the top 32 area girls basketball players down to one.

Central Noble sophomore Bridgette Gray has earned the title of fan favorite as the FAN VOTE Performer of the Year after topping Homestead’s Sydney Graber in the final round vote with 65.68 percent of the nearly 7,000 final round votes.

Gray averaged 9.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game for Central Noble. She became a third primary option as the Cougars won NECC, NECC Tournament, Sectional and Regional titles. She will be expected to be the primary option for a Cougar team next year that will have graduated their top two players in program history.

Before beating out Graber, Gray topped Snider’s Da’Leshia Davis in the semifinals and South Side’s Jaci Jones in the quarterfinal vote. In the opening round, Gray was the top vote recipient in the ‘Squaw Region,’ and the top overall vote recipient in the opening round of 32.

Overall, Gray tallied 10,616 votes over the four rounds. Nearly 30,000 votes were tallied in total over all four rounds.
