Homestead’s Sydney Graber named Indiana Junior All-Star

Homestead junior Sydney Graber will be the lone junior to represent the area as an Indiana Junior All-Star this season. The Central Michigan commit will be part of the red group that will play one time with the core group.

“It’s a huge privilege and blessing to be selected on the Indiana Jr All-Star team this year,” Graber told Outside the Huddle. “I’m really thankful for this opportunity and I’m honored to be recognized in such a talented Fort Wayne area.”

Graber averaged 10.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game for the SAC champion Homestead Spartans, who also won their Sectional.

Joining Graber on the “red group” are Harrison’s Sydney Jacobsen, Marion’s RaShaya Kyle West Lafayette’s Alaina Omonode, South Bend St. Joseph’s Keegan Sullivan and Heritage Christian’s Sydney Watkins.

They will play that one game with the core group, which consists of Northwestern’s Kendall Bostic and Madison Layden, Danville’s Ella Collier, Jeffersonville’s Nan Garcia, North Central’s Jasmine McWilliams and Hamilton Southeastern’s Sydney Parrish.

“I’m really excited to represent our region and to be able to play along side some talented players across the state,” Graber said.

The Indiana Junior All-Stars consist of 24 players in four groups of 6. Only the core group will play in each game. The Junior All-Stars will play two games against the Kentucky Junior All-Stars, set for June 1  in Kentucky and June 3 in Indiana. The Junior All-Stars also will play one game against the Indiana All-Star senior girls on June 5, that site is to be determined.
