CLASS 4A AT DEKALB

BOUNCE’S BREAKDOWN: Girls hoops 4A Sectional 5

Friday

Northrop 54, DeKalb 43: The Barons controlled much of the game but Northrop came back with a big second half to pull out the win. J’Asia Scott led the way with 17 points for Northrop while Destiny Jackson and Treva Datcher each scored 14 and had seven rebounds. As a team, Northrop had 19 steals in the game. Brooke-Destinee Lockwood led DeKalb with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Carroll 49, Snider 42: The Chargers avenged their loss from last Friday by beating Snider to advance to Saturday’s semifinal. Emily Parrett scored 17 to lead the way while Olivia Hoeppner added 13 points. Da’Leshia Davis led Snider with 13 points.

Saturday

Northrop 55, North Side 38: It was again J’Asia Scott leading the way with a game high 20 points for the Bruins. This time she also added nine rebounds and three steals. TiAuna White added 15 points while Treva Datcher had 14 points and 17 rebounds for Northrop in the win. Jewel Reuille led North Side with 14 points.

Carroll 52, East Noble 32: Emily Parrett scored 18 points and Olivia Hoeppner added 14 as the Chargers advanced to Monday’s title game.

Monday

Carroll 61, Northrop 48: Malia Williams rose to the occasion and scored a career high 32 points in the win, followed by 16 points from Delane Sheets. Carroll advances to the Regional round to play Hamilton Southeastern on Saturday at 10 a.m. in Kokomo.

CLASS 4A AT HOMESTEAD

BOUNCE’S BREAKDOWN: Girls hoops 4A Sectional 5

Tuesday

South Side 65, Huntington North 35: After the Vikings led 2-0, South Side led the rest of the way. They used a 27-6 third quarter to close out the vikings and advance to Friday’s semi final. Alaya Chapman had 14 points and five rebounds to lead South Side, while T’Laizha Morris scored 12 points and had seven rebounds. Olivia Smith added 11 and Darriyn Hackbarth scored 10. Huntington North was led by Madalyn Robrock’s 17 points.

Friday

Homestead 76, Wayne 13: Ayanna Patterson and Haley Swing shared a game high with 15 points each as the Spartans cruised to a third meeting with South Side in Saturday’s lone area championship game.

South Side 91, Muncie Central 43: Jaci Jones hit six three pointers on her way to 30 points to send the Archers back to the Sectional final to defend their title. LaMyia Woodson had 16 points and 11 rebounds while Olivia Smith scored 15 and Darriyn Hackbarth scored 13.

Saturday

Homestead 63, South Side 36: Sylare Starks scored 14 of her game high 16 points in the first half as the Spartans won Saturday’s lone Sectional title (RELATED: Early push from Sylare Starks a catalyst in Homestead’s Sectional title win). Sydney Graber added 14 points and Haley Swing had 13 for Homestead. Jaci Jones led South Side with 15 points. The Spartans will play Zionsville in the Kokomo Regional at noon.

CLASS 3A AT WEST NOBLE

BOUNCE’S BREAKDOWN: Girls hoops 3A Sectional 21

Friday

Lakeland 53, Wawasee 33: It was Bailey Hartsough’s 28 points leading the way as she outscored Wawasee herself, 8-6, in the third quarter.

West Noble 38, Fairfield 23: Nine different Chargers chipped in, led by 12 points from senior Angela Gross in the win. Lauren Burns added 8 points for West Noble while Fairfield was led by 8 points from freshman Brooke Sanchez.

Saturday

Tippecanoe Valley 68, Lakeland 54

West Noble 37, NorthWood 34: Madison Schermerhorn’s 10 points led a balanced Charger scoring output in the win.

Monday

West Noble 41, Tippecanoe Valley 39: The Chargers won their first Sectional title in 31 years. Madison Schermerhorn scored the go ahead bucket with 7.3 seconds left. West Noble will play Marion in the noon game of Regional play at Columbia City.

CLASS 3A AT CONCORDIA LUTHERAN

BOUNCE’S BREAKDOWN: Girls hoops 3A Sectional 22

Friday

Concordia Lutheran 56, Bishop Dwenger 29: Carissa Garcia led all scorers with 24 points and Nautica Rogers added 13 for the host Cadets. Molly Ream scored seven to lead the Saints.

Garrett 62, New Haven 39: Kenzie Casselman hit seven of her 10 three point attempts to score a game high 21 points for Garrett. She was followed by 16 points from Morgan Ostrowski. New Haven was led by 20 points from Avarcia Nard.

Angola 66, Leo 27: Hanna Knoll had a game high 19 points and added five steals in the win. Reace Peppler scored 12 for the Hornets. Hannah Adams led Leo with 12 points.

Saturday

Concordia 54, Woodlan 39

Angola 51, Garrett 27: Hanna Knoll scored 13 and Lauren Leach added seven points to lead the Hornets.

Monday

Angola 58, Concordia 43: The Hornets turned it up in the fourth quarter after trailing by two heading into the last eight minutes. Angola was led by Hanna Knoll’s 18 points while Carissa Garcia scored 15 to lead Concordia. Angola will play New Castle at 10 a.m. of Saturday’s regional at Columbia City.

CLASS 3A AT NORWELL

BOUNCE’S BREAKDOWN: Girls hoops 3A Sectional 23

Tuesday

Bellmont 61, Norwell 51: After overcoming a four point first quarter deficit, Bellmont won at Norwell for the first time since 2006 and hit the 20 win mark for season. Meghan Busick led the way with 24 points and Grace Hunter added 20 points for Bellmont. Maiah Shelton led Norwell with 17 points as the Knights finished with 19 wins on the season.

Friday

Marion 50, Bishop Luers 41: The Giants scored the last eight points of the game in the win.

Columbia City 52, Mississinewa 32: The Eagles were led by 14 points from Gabby Fry, 12 from Olivia Shearer and 10 from Grace Schrader.

Saturday

Bellmont 50, Heritage 29: Grace Hunter had a team high 14 points and Meghan Busick and Kenzie McMahon each added 10 in Bellmont’s 21st win of the season. Bree Dossen of Heritage led all scorers with 20 points.

Marion 59, Columbia City 44

Monday

Marion 46, Bellmont 44: Even with two good looks at the basket in the closing seconds, Bellmont couldn’t claim a Sectional crown after a big second half from Marion started with a 6-0 run to start the third quarter. Grace Hunter led Bellmont with 18 points and Morgan Shifferly added 12 in the loss. Marion will play West Noble at noon in the Columbia City Regional.

Jay County 67, Delta 41: Shelby Caldwell led the Patriots with 29 points and Hannah Phillips added 14 in the win.

New Castle 60, Jay County 47: Shelby Caldwell had 17 points, Kendra Muhlenkamp 12, and Hannah Phillips 11 for Jay County.

Central Noble 57, Westview 25: Sydney Freeman scored 20 points while Meleah Leatherman and Bridgette Gray each added 14 points in the win for Central Noble. Ashya Klopfenstein scored a team high 13 points for Westview.

Bremen 35, LaVille 24

Saturday

Central Noble 76, Whitko 27: Bridgette Gray scored a game high 26 points while Sydney Freeman and Meleah Leatherman each added 16 for the Cougars. Emi Duggins led Whitko with 10 points in the loss and teammate Ellie Snep added 10 points and 13 rebounds.

Bremen 63, Prairie Heights 29

Monday

Central Noble 55, Bremen 33: The Cougars remain unbeaten and will play in the regional round at 1 p.m. against a TBD opponent.

CLASS 2A AT BLUFFTON

BOUNCE’S BREAKDOWN: Girls hoops 2A Sectional 36

Friday

Bluffton 51, Eastside 30: It was Alyssa Burchett’s 11 points that led the way for the defending Sectional champs. Olivia King added 9 and Grace Miller had 7 points for Bluffton.

Adams Central 67, Canterbury 20: Carly Holley scored 21 points to lead the Flying Jets. McKenna Dietsch added 16 points and Lexi Smith had 9 points and 8 rebounds for Adams Central.

Saturday

Bluffton 69, Churubusco 31: Olivia King led the way for the defending Sectional champions with 18 points. Emme Boots and Grace Miller each added 10 for Bluffton.

Adams Central 56, South Adams 40: McKenna Dietsch led all scorers with 23 points and Carly Holley added 10 in the Flying Jets’ win. Lydia Loshe led South Adams with 17 points.

Monday

Bluffton 49, Adams Central 41: Emme Boots led a balanced scoring effort with 13 points for the Tigers. McKenna Dietsch scored 14 for Adams Central. The Tigers will play at 11 a.m. in the Winamac Regional against North Judson-San Pierre.

Lakewood Park 28, Blackhawk Christian 22: The Panthers won a Sectional game for the third straight season. Freshman Taylor Gerke led the way with 15 points and Chloe Jolloff added 12 for Lakewood.

Bethany Christian 65, Hamilton 18: Tori Creager led Hamilton with 11 points in the loss.
